On the recruit screen for the packs for Heroic Juggs, there's a button that will then tell you the percent chance of getting the heroes in the pack. Pretty nice to know!

  • Wow, the ten pack does not even guarantee a Thor. Looks like those are for masochists only.
  • Fantastic! Awesome feature.

I love the 30% rates on Hawkeye / Cap.
  • Yeah, also advertised as triple the chance too (but shh, the original chance from a one pack is less than 5%...) icon_rolleyes.gif
  • Nice...now to calculate the percentage of disappointment when ssomeone buys the pack and get zero thors.

I just noticed this and was going to make a new thread. Shout out to the search function for keeping me from getting the frowning of a lifetime from the forum police.

As a math guy I love having the percentages bc I usually buy packs just needing certain people. Now you can calculate the expected return of that character and whether the pack purchase is better than the straight hp price for a power.

At 14.29% drop rate with 10 drops your chance of getting no thors is roughly 21.39% (85.71% ^ 10) or 78.61% of getting atleast 1. At a 4.76% drop rate youd need to get 32 packs before your chance of getting no thor drops that low (95.24% ^ 32 = 21.00%) so if you want Thor the ten pack is a WAY better deal not even considering you might get multiple and you'll get other covers as well.

If you already have thors, 3800 only gets you in essence 78.61% of a Thor. If your goal is Thor covers buying them directly is way more cost efficient (once you get atleast one)

Seeing the numbers I like the guaranteed cover packs WAY more. Basically 1 out of 5 ten packs will get no Thor and that's not cool. Also your chances of getting 10 captain Americas is 0.00036% so beware!
  • Assuming these # are consistent for other similar deals, the average is basically same. The old way is 1 + 9*0.0476 = 1.4284 Thors The new way is 0.1429 * 10 = 1.429 Thors. Actually, you gain 0.0006 Thors with this new deal, though it probably doesn't balance out the fact that you'll be badly disappointed 21% of the time. You have basically 21% higher chance now of netting 2 or more Thors in the new way compared to the old way, though, which balances out the 21% of the 0... at least for the guys who didn't get the 0.
  • It's weird how much I enjoy you guys breaking down the maths on this stuff. icon_e_biggrin.gif

Buying the covers directly is way better, cos I'm quite sure that a high percentage of players already have their ** maxed out on covers.

Only an option if you have at least one of the covers already.

My GSBW has no red and only has a green because they gave me one as a daily reward.

Not that I would ever sacrifice my HP to the RNGod.

Cover sharing in alliances would be SWEET
  • They would tack on a monstrous HP cost, though. Just look at the price of alliance slots. It would be something like "pay 1250 HP to send this 3* cover you just earned to _____________."

Yeah, if you already have one of the FatThor covers then buying it would be better than putting trust into the RNG gods. I think this is the first time I see that the featured *** character isn't guaranteed.

    -_-

I think Icex said something about the alliance expansion costs needing to be calculated based on how they decide to do resource sharing. So hopefully that means they cost BECAUSE resource sharing will be free (esque) Somewhere out there there's a future convert to the church of patches (shameless plug!) who's gonna be so happy when I give him that yellow captain america
  • I believe the Quote.

I can see pulling 7 Cap covers from a 10-pack for my finished Cap.

    ..I'll post if it happens.
