Trouble rejoining an alliance

So I tried to join an alliance that was public at one time that became private. I was removed from it because they were trying to hold the spot for someone else. I contacted the alliance to "apply" and they've accepted me now. However, when I try to rejoin them I get an error message that says: "Join Error: You were removed from this alliance. Try joining again later." How much longer is later? I've tried to join this alliance several times in the last 12 hours. I'm not sure the commander of the alliance is even getting notice that I'm trying to rejoin in the game. They only know from my posting in the alliance forum. Thanks for any help with regards to this matter.

    Has this been solved at all? I've looked everywhere and I only find people talking about the issue, but I don't see a solution or a estimated time of fixing anywhere.

    Hah whoa, I got really confused, but then saw that you bumped a really old thread, since that long of a cooldown no longer exists.

    It was changed from 7 days to 1 hour.
