Tragic Arrogance: Poll

With the recent cost adjustment I thought I'd try it out, but it still feels pretty bland and doesn't synergize with white in PQ, IMO. If it blew up supports, I'd be willing to clear the board of my creatures in more situations than not. So would adding that ability break the card or require a cost increase?

For reference, the paper version:

  • I'm not exactly sure how to balance the card, but I do think it needs a buff. Conceptually, TA seems really overpowered. For 10 mana, you can (at most) kill TWO opponent creatures! But that almost never happens and I put TA in my deck against the big baddies in the event too and realized that in 100 total games, I probably used TA twice (and the impact on the game wasn't even big).

Not all cards are meant to be optimal though. I do enjoy the effect of TA as it is definitely unique. But this game suffers a lot from balance issues (like Exert Influence only costing 10 mana to STEAL a creature).

Considering it is a mythic it could work on supports too.
A little mana increase could be needed(like 12 mana).

I voted for the first option, but since this game has a problem with targeting supports, the computer would probably pick the targets for you.

I have the card but never use it. It's better now that it costs 10 mana instead of (I think) 21, but really I'd rather just have spot removal. It's rarely the case that there are 2 opposing creatures that have to die right now, and it doesn't work on a lot of the situations where I'd really want mass removal over spot removal (IE: Undergrowth Champion or Hexproof creatures are on the other side).

In most cases, I'd much rather have Roil Spout. This also costs 10 mana, but it bounces a creature to the top of its owner's library instead of their hand. This means Undergrowth Champion goes away for a while, and also gets around the problem of bounce not working when the opponent's hand is full.

I think the main problem with the support side would be actually to be able to select supports.
There is a technical problem probably with implementing it.
That is the only reason(I can think of) why, at the moment, there is NO support destruction that allows to choose target.

If that is the case it could be reworked to "destroy all but one random support" for each player.

    P.S.
Wow I never realized roil spout did put on top of library. That really makes it great.
Can you confirm it is not counted as kill effect objective wise?
I use bounce decks mainly for those objectives.

It does not count as kill.
Also it does not target tokens.

I chose option 3 because i feel it shoukd be able to choose either a creature OR a support for each player and then destroy everything else on the battlefield but thats probably asking too much...

Also i dont think they can let us select desired gems on the board so i agree that selecting a support is probably not do able

Bumping this since supports are becoming strong with SoI. I don't see why TA can't/shouldn't destroy some supports at the very least.

i want to get tragic arrogance... can somebody help me????
  • Tragic arrogance is a really bad card, i have it , and i never used too. Normal escenario is that you have more creatures than opponent so card almost time is bad for your own. I think get in the game at least should destroy all creatures of your opponent and let you have 1. I preferencia destroy one support also
