Do you have to start or finish before time expires?

I was ranked 200 in the Hulk event with 6 minutes to go. I purposely left a 1200 point round for the final round. I started it promptly but it took longer than expected to win. The screen did not tell me a was rewarded 1200 points but it said that it was the first time winning the round (it was not) and I ended up out of the top 200. So my question is, do you have to finish the round before the event expires or just start it? If it is the latter, then I feel that I got robbed because it did not reward the 1200 points that it should have.

You have to finish it before the event ends.

You have to finish it im afraid
  • You have to finish before the clock strikes zero or the match does not count towards the event progression/rating.

You must finish a fight before the event countdown ends for the points to count towards your event total.
  • You have to finish it before time expires.

The glitch you experienced has been going on since the beginning of MPQ with no end in sight.

I wouldn't call it a glitch, really. I've occasionally gone to do something else in the middle of a PvP fight, which left the fight open for upwards of 30 minutes. It makes sense that the servers would register the real-world victory time as the official point-earning time.

Now I really feel robbed because I lost a day due to a 'glitch' and spent all day yesterday getting back to my top 200 status. I was originally at about 135, then the 'glitch' happened, lost a day and fell to about 500 and then got back to 175 for the last hour.

I think he's talking about the 'first-time completion' bonus that is displayed. Which is most certainly weird, but not terribly impactful.

Yeah that's pretty standard. I used to it use it for getting extra ISO whenever a sub was ending.

Oh, I see. Yeah, I don't see how that matters. It's no more meaningful than a temporary display error.
  • I would agree that it's true for PvE but wouldn't you say time limit is more flexible in PvP? Sometimes it works if i'm just a few minutes late.

You have to finish it AND claim your reward before the timer ends... Got up to get a cup of water after finishing my last match in the BP event, came back and claimed the reward too late, no Yellow Hood cover for me.
(Just for the info, claimed iso at approx 20-30 seconds after the end of the event.)

If you get the 'First time' thing it indicates you were too late. You really get a fresh prize but the score does not count in the tournament. (Guess one can exploit this for the last game, if it goes wrong just stall a few minutes and avoid point loss).

And yes, that last-second push shall be timed properly to fit in, you better take all the boosts and play like crazy. By now at least the time display is correct, earlier the clocks were not synched with the server so you could see 5 mins left actually just having 2.

Yup. That's what I was referring to.
