Did anyone else have this happen to them?

During the event several times the game just froze up during a battle, I couldn't swap or see cards but I could still use the quit button. Did that happen to anyone else? I did complete the event so I didnt get too upset but I realized after I should have screen shot and reported it.

I've had that happen in story or quick battle. It's not an event-specific issue.

Same questions in quick-battle. Everything was frozen except quit button ... What a joke ...

I've noticed it always happens to me after there are "no more moves" and it rearranges all the gems.

There's definitely a bug where "No more moves!" reshuffle sometimes still has no moves after the reshuffle. The suggestion will highlight two random adjacent gems but there's nothing you can do.

I have had the freeze whereby nothing but quit works, but I don't think that was after the No more moves bug.

It's been happening to me a lot. It seems like I swap a crystal, but the swap doesn't go through (or the AI does it) and the game freezes dead. I have to quit the game. I've lost several wins because of this, which sucks.

Yup, 'No More Moves' definitely creates unstable board states which can crash the game, sometime many moves after 'No More Moves' appears. this include (but I don't think is limited to?) 2 different supports respawning on the same gem.
