Mirrorpool strange behaviour

When Mirrorpool triggers by playing a creature that spawns another creature the spawned creature is the one that gets reinforced.
This is misleading at the very least cause you would think(and graphics in game also lead you to believe) that the creature you played enters first so that creature should be reinforced.

This is not a bug that usually impact the game much for me since I use eldrazi twins.

I can see it being a big problem with some other creatures though, like drowner of hope for example.

After some more testing I think the problem lies in "enter the battlefield" effects.

It looks like those effect take place BEFORE the creature gets in play.
I used a rumbling elemental and he destroyed gems hitting the mirrorpool.
Mirrorpool shield went to 9 and after self destructed to buff the rumbling.

Think you should just rearrange order of things.

That assuming it is a simple thing to fix.

At the moment the overal impact of this "bug" is minimal but with more cards added in future this could become a problem.

So better fix it now so future cards with an effect when entering battlefield will work fine.

A similar thing happens with spells that summon tokens. Instead of getting the Mirrorpool effect that is supposed to happen when a spell is cast, you get one extra token creature. Not the result I expected.

I agree that this seems to be an issue with enter the battlefield. There are a lot of effects that surround this aspect of play that are not clear. As it stands there are some very strong cards that are not getting much benefit from Mirrorpool like they should. Desolation Twins and Drowner of Hope are the big ones. Getting a 10/10 and a 20/20 instead of two 20/20s is a pretty big difference.

The code probably states reinforce the next creature to enter the battlefield. What we don't see is that the token eldrazi enters first in the code but shows up second in the graphics.

to be honest eldrazi Twins is "working ad intended" stat wise.
The only problem is the token getting buffed instead of the original card. Rarely this makes a difference, but still...

2 eldrazis 20/20 each is out of question. It should not buff both for sure.

My Issue is why does the AI continue to play creatures before Mirrorpool. it is just plain silly...

It doesn't statistically affect Desolation Twin. You only get a 10/10 + 20/20 because the on summon effects do not trigger with Mirrorpool. Tyrant of Valakut does not deal 12 damage to all when Mirrorpool is triggered by its summon.

This should be the same behaviour as Evolutionary Leap.

Drowner of Hope however is affected because of the difference in stats of the main creature and the token.

I said it in another thread, it affects Birthing Hulk and that's a problem. Instead of doubling my 5/4 to 10/8, it doubles my 1/1 to 2/2 and that's definitely not what I want.
