Okay so will we be addressing the issue of bots in quick battle?

I started playing yesterday morning and managed to make it into a relatively new pool, after the first game I was in the top 20 with a 6 point win. This was with 14 hours left in the QB. I wanted to screenshot the final scores but my last match ran long and the QB reset. Here is the problem with half an hour left this is what the top 10 looked like #1 732 points
#2 696 #3-10 320 and below.

I am really bad at math but let me try anyway, 732 points in under 14 hours is roughly 52 points every hour. Or close to a win every 10 minutes at level 60... for 14 hours. This doesn't seem possible except thru automation or bots.

Is this okay? Legal?

This isn't the first time I've noticed it, but the first time I've seen such a massive differential.

Sadly, this sounds perfectly achievable for a human to me. When the first new planeswalker (Garruk) was released as a QuickBattle reward, I sat in front of my TV with some box sets for about 20 hours total over the weekend, averaging I think about 10 wins an hour.... a win every 6 minutes. Admittedly, this was with Chandra, the last time her first ability cost 3, and everyone agreed then that she was overpowered, but she is still very fast even when it costs 6, and I think a win every 10 minutes is easily achievable by her, or even some other planeswalkers.

I'm not playing like that at the moment, but when your bracket contains 3,000 people, there are always going to be people who are.

Yeah, doesnt sound like a bot to me.... but a person with lot of free time. I could do 732 in 14 hours if i wanted to... with a severe head ache as a reward mind you

There have been instances when a persons score rose quickly than possible. But this does not seem like one of those cases
  • I guess it is possible but seems improbable given its a random qb during the first event. These people continued to qb at such a high rate right as the event started. Also there has to be losses at some point heallth bars depleted etc. Just seems fishy.

I am one of those you talk about(not specifically but like them).

Usually I run the last day in the morning.
If I end in a bracket at least half empty I try to go for the big box.
Usually that needs 700 wins. Think I play from ~ 15:00 to 24:00(or a little later) with pauses along the way.
Think effective time play being around 7 hours.
A match win usually does not take more than 5 minutes at worst.
Think 4 minutes being the avg.
Also no need to stop cause of pwalker damage cause rarely happens and I can switch losing little to no effectiveness.
  • I was able to hit the top 10 a couple of times already, even the top 50, easily, over the past couple of weeks (considering I was less than a month into playing this game since day 1). But it came at great expense of free time. I will say that those who have decent decks and level 60 pwalkers will have a chance to earn. If you can average 20-30 medals per hour during the event, you're working at a decent rate. That's assuming you're running lv 60 pwalkers getting 6 medals per win, and depending on how quickly battles end. You'd need to invest at least a good chunk of free time into the event just to have a chance of getting good to great rewards.

I will say that running bots for this game is not something I saw online. I am more inclined to believe people could somehow hack their Crystal/Rune count somehow and farm massive collections of cards and trick the servers than have a bot in this game. Especially with a new bug in the 1.50 update where a duel runs the risk of freezing to the point where quitting it's the only way to get out of the freeze. If there are any bots out there, they are surely lucky and haven't hit that snag yet.

Don't forget that you can buy extra potions if you run out, so if money is no object to someone they can play indefinitely, even if they are quitting games regularly because they find themselves in situations where it takes too long for a game to resolve.

A 3 pack of potions runs about 25 crystals. If we're talking someone who can shell out $10-15 at a time for a bundle of runes and crystals (especially with the new event offering big packs of crystals), then yeah...every game with in-app purchases is going to have that someone...plenty of disposable income for digital items.

If I am focused, don't have a crash, and win every QB I can earn about 84 points an hour. I take a screenshot of the scores, play for an hour, take another SS, and compare. Most of the TOP players fall in the 42 - 54 point range playing over the weekend. I don't buy potions. I simply jump from PW to PW while potions and health regenerate. Earning around 100ish an hour is in the realm of possibility. Posting this now is hurting my efficiency in this weekend's tournament though >.<

If a player has 2 or 3 top tier PW / decks then they don't need as many potions. Can swap between PW's.

I'm used to running 60-90 points/hour myself. A speedy combo deck could do even better then me I'm sure.

Just for records sake i made 1830 points on the Tezzeret QB. I could have played way more than I did. I worked 2, 8 hour shifts and sleeped 6 hours as usual.

I'm taking 1st in my group in this QB event with just under 1300 points and I started the event like 36 hours ago.... grinded a ton this event and the guy in 2nd just wouldn't stop chasing me. But I played for an hour the other day and hit 86 points in an hour with my garruk and Kiora decks and I think it's easily possible to make those amount of points.

Well, looks to me like the bots are people with no kids and/or wives/girlfriends. At least, i hope that's the case. Enjoy those cool virtual mythics, you've earned them.

    What's the point of this?

Everyone has different schedules and priorities in life that make it (im) possible to play the way they do.

I actually work a 3rd shift office job and have about 7 hrs of free time to play at work, and if I'm in the heat of running for 1st place I say ^#%@ sleep and stay awake and grind. Getting top 10 is fairly easy and that's usually where I look to place. So if I play 7 hrs worth of magic at work 2 nights I can place top 10 in a qb event easy and go home and sleep and do what I gotta do with my kids and work around the house.

You're right. I apologize for what I said in my previous post. I was in a bad mood but that's absolutely no excuse for my snarky post. My bad. icon_redface.gif

52 points per hour is not that much.

I think I can average a win every 4 - 5 minutes. Shortest games are within 2 minutes but longest are 6 - 8. It depends on cards I draw, how many cascades my opponents get and which opponent I face.

Currently the hardest opponents for me are Koth and Ajani. I have to constantly swap red gems to stop Koth and Ajani can disable my creatures which really slows me down. Koth can bring a 15 attack Iroas's champion at turn 3 or so and is overall pretty fast since last patch.

I never ever run out of healing potions. Also I think no one should ever trade crystals for potions as it pretty much defeats the very purpose of QB

There's also a bunch of awesome cards I no longer play with because they slow the game down too much, like Part the Waterveil and Retreat to Coralhelm (Prism Crystal would be similar but I don't have it). Paired with mana cards they sometimes create uselessly long combos
