I did it!!! Only lost 6 life in the end. Paired down my deck to be as efficient a combo deck as possible, and I combined that with the clever tactic of being really lucky and getting to play my Octopi on turn 2.

Retreat to Coralhelm is rather astonishingly good; when you get a match4, it draws the card into your hand first, and you get the mana from the match afterwards, so you can pay for spells that you've just drawn. I can only imagine how crazy Prism Array must be.

I also like the way that the same Animist's Awakening can produce a combo before and after a Day's Undoing icon_e_smile.gif

    Kiora
    Days Undoing
    Nissa's Pilgrimage
    Natural Connection
    Fertile Thicket
    Animist's Awakening

    Disperse

    Retreat to Coralhelm

    Artificer's Awakening
    Anticipate
    Talent of the Telepath

How is ob nixilis vs. These high healt behemoths? I'm leveling it for the next event since for now I only have chandra at 60 and I can't get past the tyrant with her.

Anybody has any suggestion to beating him with her?

    Avaricious dragon
    Abbot of keral keep
    Scab clan berserker
    valakut invoker
    volcanic rambler
    Embermaw hellion

    Exquisite firecraft
    ravaging blaze
    Lighting javelin
    demolish/scour from existence

Do you have Iroa's Champion? If you can stack multiples of her, along with Embermaw Hellion, you can kill anything he puts out without taking damage. If she get's up to 12 attack or more, the opponent's health drops rapidly!

Lightning Javelin is too inefficient, as is Demolish and Scour from Existence. How about Act of Treason and Fiery Conclusion? That kills a creature no matter their defense!

You have to hope for lucky draws and lots of cascades... Even an all mythic deck can lose to randomness...
  • I am also stuck on tyrant. I have lvl 60 Chandra that seems to have no hope. I got it down to 80 something health with a level 46 Liliana and the game froze so all I could do was quit. And I have level 60 Nissa that I can't seem to reinforce faster than he deals damage. I seem to have no hope with lvl 57 ajani. Are there any basic builds to help? I don't have most of the cards Ive see throughout here.

Ob Nixilis is what I used to beat Tyrant. A heavy dose of hand disruption (Transgress the Mind, Infinite Obliteration, Mire's Malice), Destruction (Unholy Hunger, Grip of Desolation, Painful Truths), and misc (Read the Bones, Llanowar Wastes, Caves of Koilos, Grave Birthing)

Basically, I just kept his hand low and board clean while accruing loyalty, then dropped the ultimate and road it to victory. It was still close.

Can't offer too much help with Chandra help unfortunately, since I had to resort to Kiora to get past this level the first time after failing initially with a similar deck to yours, but fwiw Ob Nixilis seems to work very effectively on this level (haven't tested him on other levels, since Kiora seems even stronger in most cases), even with a relatively mediocre deck (i.e. one lacking some of the best black removal spells). After a lot of experimentation, roughly 10-12 attempts, and some luck, this build was eventually able to finish above 90 life even without Orbs of Warding, and won with around 30-70 life probably half a dozen times before that:

    Oblivion Sower (M)
    Graveblade Marauder (R)
Priest of the Blood Rite (R)
    Dark Petition (R)
    Fleshbag Marauder (U)
    Cruel Revival (U)
    Transgress the Mind (U)
    Shambling Ghoul (C)
    Bone Splinters (C)
    Mire's Malice (C)

The basic gameplan is to control ToV's access to red/PW mana and cascades as much as possible, stack Graveblade Marauder and Oblivion Sower, and limit damage using Transgress the Mind (ideally on enemy cards that are 50-75% charged) and creature removal long enough to activate Forbidden Knowledge and outrace Breath Fire etc.

Some notes on the Orbs version are available here (linking to a post in the same thread only because it was my first on these forums and might have been easy to overlook by the time it was approved); compared to that deck, the rares and mythic are much more important in this variant despite only having a 1-card difference (Transgress instead of Orbs), since the speed from Graveblade Marauder and gem control from Oblivion Sower (along with Dark Petition recursion) help a lot with keeping ToV's minor damage sources (e.g. Dragonmaster Outcast and Oath of Chandra) in check while racing. That said, it's possible that other fatties (Desolation Twin comes to mind, among others), void gem generators, or easily stackable 4+ hp creatures would be enough to get the job done eventually too, especially with more efficient creature removal spells to mitigate the need for slightly awkward zombie/sac synergies.

Anyway, congrats to everyone who's managed to beat the level so far (especially the 90+ life objective), and good luck to everyone still working on it.

How much G/R/B mana does ToV generate with normal match? My avg PW lvl is ~33. ToV is lvl 112, has 316 health and makes +4g/+5r/+4b mana.
