Some roster advice for a newbie please

Hi guys,

I have been playing this game for a couple of weeks now, but I guess the Hulk event is the first time I have been logging in as often as possible to try and get rewards!

I have now hit a wall with my roster slots (need 200HP for a new one and I have re-played the Prologue missions that had HP for rewards so no knew slot coming anytime soon!). I have just got the Punisher from the Hulk event, plus have rewards about to vanish unless I use/sell them. Hoping you guys could help me out? My roster is currently:

Iron Man Model 35 - Level 50 - 3-5-5
Black Widow Modern - Level 36 - 5-5
Spider Man Classic - Level 15 - 1
The Hood Classic - Level 15 - 1
Storm Modern - Level 26 - 5-4-4
Thor Marvel Now! - Level 25 - 4-1-2
Magneto Marvel Now! - Level 14 - 2-1
Captain America Modern - Level 8 - 1-1
Wolverine Astonishing X-Men - Level 6 - 2
Moonstone Dark Avengers - Level 6 - 1-1-1
The Hulk Indestructible - Level 15 - 1
Daken Dark Avengers - Level 6 - 1


In my reward area:

The Punisher Dark Reign
Hawkeye Modern
Ares Dark Avengers (two green power cards)
Storm Classic
Black Widow Original
Bullseye Dark Avengers

So all the ones waiting for me are two star, with the Punisher three star.

I tend to roll with Iron Man, Widow and one other (have been using the powered Thor and Hulk plus Widow for the Hulk event). But have no idea if this is a good team, and if I am holding onto characters in my roster that should immediately be swapped out for others?

Quite a few of the covers expire later today, so any help would me much appreciated!

Look to level up Thor bwo and wolverine.
Sell daken, bullseye add bwo and punisher.
Ares is cool, but unless you want to spend $$ or have the HP to expand the roster he got to go.
Your next 1 star to go is modern bw
Your 2 star team should be
Thor 3/5/5 (you can respec as you get the cover)
Astonishing wolverine 5/5/3
Black widow original 3/5/5
Punisher, hulk spider are all core 3*
Hood is more high end 3*
moonstone is meh and captain America is also meh (get him to 3/5/5 and level 50 over time and he'll be effective in pre for a countdown stopper)

Yes. Iron Man and Modern Black Widow are good one-star characters anyway, besides being your highest-levelled characters, of course. I think it's a choice of levelling up and using Modern Storm or Thor for your third at this point -- Storm's easier for enemies to take down, but has abilties that complement the others better (Iron Man and Thor overlap a lot as heavy hitters).

As for what to take up -- Bullseye and Hawkeye are the least worthwhile. Drop Moonstone, and probably Cap too. Definitely take Original Black Widow, and probably Punisher. Trouble is, those are some good rewards, but not a lot of space for them....

Thanks very much guys. Can't see any HP coming anytime soon so actually contemplating buying some roster slots. Which I guess is the aim of the designers! For now I will get Punisher and BWO.

Since you have to, here is a suggestion.

You should be aiming to keep:
The Punisher Dark Reign
Ares Dark Avengers (two green power cards)
Storm Classic
Black Widow Original

Sell:
Hawkeye Modern
Bullseye Dark Avengers

Means you need 4 slots.

First sell:
Moonstone Dark Avengers - Level 6 - 1-1-1, then
Captain America Modern - Level 8 - 1-1, now it gets trickier...

Your next two sells, since you have to, are probably:
Daken Dark Avengers - Level 6 - 1
Magneto Marvel Now! - Level 14 - 2-1

Also try to avoid completing the missions that give you characters you don't have room for at the moment.

Good advice above. I'd suggest you don't put any more ISO into Modern BW - you'll regret it. She's useful for stunning and stealing to begin with but you'll be selling her soon as OBW is 100x better.

Another thing to consider - I'd get Classic Storm going as well. You already have one and some of the missions give you more. I'd get her over Captain America - you'll be swamped with his covers if you play for long enough and he's pretty rubbish except when boosted for occasional events. If you get a her and Magneto's levelled up they work very well together. When he can generate five blue tiles to feed her Wind Storm they are a great combination.

You should keep Punisher but don't expect to get covers for him in a hurry.

If you see yourself playing this game for a long time, I would definitely consider buying HP and getting more cover slots. It will only get harder to make decisions about who to sell and keep as you win more heroes, so having the space to have a load of them will save you that trouble. Roster slots is one of the most worthwhile things you can spend HP on, so if you're happy to drop some money on the game, I would highly recommend that.

Thanks guys. Very quick help and gives me some things to consider (outside of get Punisher and BWO now!) Seems I have been ploughing ISO into BWM but I am sure that is not the first mistake I will make with this game!

Hardly a mistake. Nice to have a couple of high level characters early on. And yes, I only realised about her levelling after I had.

You've gone so far, I'd finish her off. Only a few more levels.

She's still going to be useful for a while yet and then randomly, her skills both still have their uses for some time.

Personally disagree, but each to their own. She's not that useful when you're in two star battles. If you want to level up a 1* I'd go for Venom.
