Hi guys, first post here. I've been playing 36 days or something and I feel like I've progressed pretty well so far, but was hoping you guys could help with some strategy on what events to play and rewards to shoot for. If you want to chime in on my roster and where I should go with it, I'd love input on that too. Without further ado, my roster:
Hero Covers Level/Current Max
*
Storm (Modern) 5/5/3 50/50
BW (Modern) 5/5 40/40
Venom 5/5 30/40
**
Thor (MN) 4/5/2 69/69
Storm (Classic) 4/2/4 61/61
Cap 5/2/5 47/77
Wolvie 3/2/1 30/30
Mags (MN) 2/2/5 24/53
Daken 5/2 20/45
Moonstone 2/3/2 6/37
OBW 3/1/2 6/30
Hawkeye 1/3/1 6/24
***
Punisher 4/2/2 77/77
Hulk 1/0/2 22/28
Psylocke 1/0/1 18/18
BP, DD, Loki, Spidey, Hood, Patch, cMags - 1 cover of each, only useful for required missions
Also have one IW and one X-Force, so obviously still not useful
So far I've been doing as well as I can in all of the PvE events, prioritizing that so I can get as many HP as possible. I'll do PvP just once every couple days usually if I feel my place in the PvE is pretty secure. Is this a good strategy? Should I be doing more of the lightning rounds and 2/3 day PvP events? While I haven't had much trouble placing well in the PvEs (Thor/Storm have been OP in all the forest and desert levels in Hulk events) I feel like my team is pretty weak for PvP so I've been mostly avoiding them.
Thanks for the help!
*edit - just picked up MN mags and my first classic mags from the hulk sub event rewards. Gonna have to find some roster space in the next few days with x-force, mags, 2xbullseye, and hopefully 3xgold thor sitting in my inventory pretty soon.

It looks like you're progressing pretty well, really. You should check out Polarity's guide for detailed advice on characters: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3939. I would concentrate on pumping iso into OBW. You have some great combinations that are already viable: Thor + Modern Storm, MN Magneto + Classic Storm. You're already well on your way to developing Punisher, but he's a ways away from coming into his true power.
Your roster is strong enough that you should be able to compete in PvP at least to the extent that you're getting the 2* rewards. You just have to be patient that better rewards follow from that.0 -

For your particular case, I think some combination of leveling Thor/C.Storm/Punisher/MN Mags would work well. I don't like leveling MN Mags as much because you only have 2 purple covers, but him + C. Storm is definitely one of the most powerful things you can do right now. Not really sure what the best team for you right now is: Punisher is awkward with Thor. MN Mags not as synergistic with C. Storm right now due to low blue/purple covers, but Punisher/Thor desperately need someone to help them cover blue/purple.
For PvP, you should always aim for the 2* cover reward (top 200): that blue storm cover in the current tournament would be really useful for you right now, for instance. You should also try to tank as many LRs as you can. The way you do this is enter as soon as the tournament starts so that you get a bunch of low level seed teams to fight. Fight these teams until you don't get anymore and start to get matched with real teams (if you do this right you should get 100-150 points), and you will have earned ~1.5k iso for 10-15 minutes of work, which is pretty amazing. In order to tank, save a super weak seed team as your last fight, and beat it with your weakest team (level 20 daken/level 24 moonstone). This makes it so that your opponents will see this team, and attack you endlessly, thus lowering your MMR and allowing you to fight easier opponents in subsequent PvP tournaments. Doing this during/before the 3 day PvP tournaments will make your opponents a lot easier and let you do well in them. With this strategy, I think you can place top 200 in all 3 day events with maybe 1-2 hours of work if you've tanked a ton. I should probably add this tip to my guide.0 -
Thanks guys for replying - great tips, had a vague idea about the MMR/tanking thing, but didn't really know how it works.0
