Where to find motivation?

I am tired...

I am tired of the gameplay being that repetitive. Over 700 days of grind...

I am tired...

I've spend AAA money on this game (so I am not a whale but not F2P as well). And I think I won't anymore. Unless the game gives me an option to enjoy it without the constant pressure (hello. I am new content and I will not be visiting MPQ for a while...).

In PvP i can get to 1k without much of a problem if I put in the effort (and often I do). 1,3k for the elusive CP is not really an option as I will not use line to coordinate and my HP supply is to slim to hop. Never made it and my team is good (but not 5*).

The PvE could be good but grinding the nodes 15 time? Or even 9 times? Boring as hell (and the dingling carrot makes the donkey do it). I like the concept of no timer and 0 points at the end of the grind but the grind should be limited to 5-7 times. I would play that PvE more.

Anything else - nope. Deadpool daily is a bit stale already after one year. I still play it but i don't really enjoy it anymore.

The dark times have come.

For the moment I am taking a step back. I will focus on championing all 3* so I don't have to sell the covers. And I will try to add HP to open slots for all 2* (i like the high resale value - something I will work with).

My roster is well developed on 4* front (champed all the top tier ones - HulkB, Jean, Ice, Rhulk, Deadpool, Thoress) but the 5* game is not there (my best is 1-1-1 OML - the others miss the key covers, like Phoenix Red). I don't want to leave but i can't find the motivation to grind.... Need holidays I guess.

Take good care of yourselves.

Ps. sorry for personal rant. I would take it to Twitter when it should go but it was too long icon_e_wink.gif

700 days is a lot for any game. It is healthy to go do something else. There are so many enjoyable things you can do instead!

If you don't come back, it is ok - try to think of the money you spent as an invested in the fun times you had during those 700 days, just like a few $ will get you a nice glass of beer or a ticket to go see a movie. After a brief moment, the money is gone and the fun was had. No worries if you don't "own" anything afterwards, even if MPQ does give you the impression that you are building something concrete.

(But hey, who knows, you may actually miss the game in a few weeks!)

I've been getting burnt out too. It gets worse with champed 5's actually as even boosted champed 4's are not worth playing so now I mostly just play OML and Phoenix.
    2 Suggestions:
    1) Join line. The interaction you have with regulars (from all over the world) will become one of the best parts of the game.
    2) stop playing PVE, it's a waste of time

OK. I am venomously cynical about this game at the best of times but I'm going to shelve that for a second of real talk:

If you find yourself making a thread on the official forums about how to motivate yourself to play a game then for the love of everything good, and nice, and pure: take a break.

I'm not judging you here at all, but - quite literally - that is the behavior of an addict.

I'm not telling you to quit or whatever, but you gotta just let it go, even if it's just for a week. You'll be welcomed back, because this community is full of cool people.

    Take care of yourself.

If you're looking for justification to quit, its ok! It wasn't a waste of your time and money when you enjoyed it. If you don't enjoy it and you're still playing? THAT is a waste of your time and money. Check back in on the game every once and a while and see if anything's changed. Right now, there's nothing exciting or new to work for. Everyone finally intuitively understands that getting a 4* or 5* maxed at this point is a months to a year investment, and really pointless if they aren't the top of their tier.

Hopefully the devs understand this and are working to change it. But perhaps not. Don't throw good time after a bad time.

I'm not even halfway to your play time, but I've been giving myself a break recently - not pushing for 1300 unless it lines up with my schedule, skipping a lot of PVE - some days I just do the DDQ and nothing else, since that takes maybe 15 minutes and gets me a chunk of ISO (read: progress) for the day.

I can't imagine playing for over another year and still going full steam. Just ease up on the throttle a bit and see how you feel. I know I initially felt a constant sense of "I'M FALLING BEHIND I NEED TO DO MORE" but after a few days the decreased stress from not constantly thinking about MPQ is well worth it. You'll never be top dog unless you drop stupid cash, so there's no sense worrying about it.

Not sure what your situation is like, but maybe joining a new alliance? A very social one.

How do you plan to do this without playing?
