Placement is a pain, and there is a sickening number of ties at max points in my slice. I'm 29, I have 144,870. I'll finish literally every node to the end, in the next six hours. I will STILL drop ranks. I should still finish top 50. 50 ties for first... Not great.

The rest of this I am happy with though. Maybe a few less clears on the hard nodes. 7 would be nice. No Crit boost. Worthwhile vault rewards. (Subjective only to me. I got a Jean I have five of in the color, and Two TAHulk. Bleh.)

Here's my suggestion for dealing with ties.

First, reduce the number of attempts at each node because that was just a failed attempt to avoid ties. If you make it impossible to get top ten without playing 3-4 hours per day, you aren't a casual game at all.

Second, have a fun tie breaker: if you clear a sub completely (let's say that 3 clears of each node) you unlock a new node: a one-shot-only survival wave. Your three heroes go in and face increasingly harder waves of enemies until they are defeated. The last wave you beat determines your points for that node, also the rewards, no retries.

Strictly speaking it is still possible to tie for points on a sub, but the odds of tying for event placement are very low.

How is a scaling complaint not one of the options? For anyone with a high-level roster, the scaling on each node quickly goes from "Hey, this is pretty doable" to "Hey, go **** yourself". You can't clear these without dipping into the vault for health packs, and it takes hours longer to clear everything vs. the old system. Anyone who's enjoying this more than regular PvE is benefiting from the fact that after 2+ years, the devs still insist of trying to use scaling to try to level the PvE playing field, and still can't figure out how to do it fairly.

I disagree if you are talking about levelling the playing field. Lower rosters are getting reamed by scaling too. Based on what I've seen through the many threads regarding this event it seems they've hit the sweet spot for scaling for 3* rosters. Anything above that or below that fuhgetaboutit.
  • I hit max progression at the start of sub 4 with full clears on all prior subs. I've definitely lost interest in this event. 7 days is way too much. Wolverine slashing for 10k was bad enough, now they throw gorgon into the mix. I'll play each node once or twice moving forward, but all the fun that was to be was had.

Yeah, I agree it is clearly easier for teams soft capped at 166 (including 4s). At that point you have a great selection of chars (both 3s and 4s are usable at 166, and even 2s at 144 can help sometimes) and enemy scaling has not made them super powerhouses yet (at 200 level they are quite beatable by these teams). So basically devs are encouraging new players to move from 2 to 3 and then older players that are already at 4 land, just to stop playing icon_razz.gif

Scaling is also my main issue. For players like me (4->5) this is way to much, at this point I can just use OML and whatever chars are buffed (in this event Jean, IMHB, Quake, switch and IF basically, that's it) . And it greatly discourages me from levelling any other 5, and well, keep playing in general.

Also, having to clear 8-9 times to get the CP (because it is almost always one of the last rewards we get) is quite boring, too much repetition.

I didn't find scaling that problematic being a veteran player myself. I have a 451 OML, and my next highest was a Phoenix at 315 that I took up to 340 and ended up not using. OML was locked out of the first 5 days, so my scaling was influenced by a character that was 100 levels above any other character and could not be used. I still managed to easily do most nodes with some combination of 4* JG and SWitch, KP and IF, or BD and IM40. JG/SW/BD/IF/IM40 are characters that all veteran players I know have, and most are championed. The wave nodes are made trivial by using enhancer (3/5/5) PX. If you haven't tried enhancer PX with beast and psylocke, give it a shot. It's a lot of fun.

Anyhow, I couldn't account for every reason people might have for liking/disliking the changes. That's why the "overall this was a step forward/backward" options are there.

Sorry for asking, but who do you mean by 'BD'?
