Where to spend my hero points

I have She Hulk, Loki, Daredevil, Colossus and Kate Bishop queued up. I'm not particularly impressed with any of them having used them in pvp. Should I roster any of them or just leave an empty slot for essentials then sell them when I don't need them?

it depends on how much weight you put into having every 4*. if you play pve competitively every event, keep kate. if for nothing else, for venom bomb and then sell her. of the others, I'd definitely recommend loki. he was one of my first 2 3*s that I leveled for pvp. back when 3thor was a 'meta' character, thor and loki carried me until I started maxing more guys. shulk and colossus aren't bad characters, but aren't the 'best' options ever. there are times will loki will be by far the 'best' option (with patch, with the current version of vision, countering patch, countering fist or witch, later on countering thing, etc.). loki was my second to max (not that he was second strongest, but hes a great support character) - I still haven't maxed colossus or shulk (but am considering colossus with covers in queue and he feeds of my 4* champs).
  • I only have one cover for Kate, so using her for Venom Bomb points and then selling would definitely work. I don't care for Loki but I guess he would offset those annoying attack tiles with Patch. I have Patch and Quicksilver champed just because those are the ones I covered first.

Loki is a must have. His AP stealing can let you take down much stronger opponents, and max Trickery neutralizes a number of attack/protect tile creators.

oh yeah, you started with patch - loki is a must-have for you. with 5 black covers, you can throw 1 or 2 patch greens and follow it with a black and then are just a few tile-matches away from winning and taking no more damage. at the same time someone like mags or falcon - if they throw their shields, you can flip all of them for you. same for blade with his strikes. and the ap gain from his passive (both steal and some cascade gain) and the ap gain from his purple shake - don't underestimate him. as far as support goes, he might not be im40 or hood, but he has utility that basically nobody else in the game has (flipping all strikes/protects).

Every time I see Thing in a PVE node, Loki and Patch are called out of the bullpen. There is just something about totally destroying the enemy team with their own tiles. icon_twisted.gif

I used to think: Loki is ****. Until I collected 4th black cover and started used to use him with Patch. It was still not great, but I saw potential. Then I champed Patch. Later on got 5th black cover for Loki (he was 5/2/2 then). Teamed them with 2 star.png champed Daken. Since then it's my favourite team. 3 star.png daken replaced his 2 star.png version as soon as I collected 13th cover for him and I can't wait until I get missing covers for Loki. The "problem" will be to keep him that lower, so Daken tanks purple, to not use healthpacks most of the time.

I don't Think you need to go out of your way to have Daken tank Purple as he still tanks black and Wolverine tanks green, so Loki will only go to the front when you make a Purple match. Higher level means Loki has more Health and can take a few more hits, so it evens out IMO.

My go-to PVP Simulator team has for the longest time been Loki/Daken/Patch, which I vouch for 100%. On climbs, I pretty much concede purple matches to keep Loki safe, but that's mostly a byproduct of prioritizing black and then green.

To OP: I try to roster every 4* and 3* I can, mostly because I try to hit the 25 CP top progression in every PVE (and to get the CP from the 4* essentials). You might feel like your HP is sitting there with nothing to do right now (I was similarly bored not too long ago), but in time you'll feel the pinch when you start rostering everyone and start calculating how much HP you can farm per week just to figure out when you can buy another roster spot.
  • I cringe when I think about the 3* covers I sold because I didn't have room for them or didn't think I needed them. I've sold Loki twice now because I never had a use for him. I'll roster him now, since I have Patch champed. Here is my current roster:

patch has 2 drawbacks - low health and he provides enemy strikes (pretty powerful ones at that). while there are other options for dealing with the enemy strikes, loki helps both by turning them to protects so patch can heal up as you finish the match. and the other options for dealing with the enemy strikes are pretty limited in scope (daredevil, shulk, moonstone, falcon, bullseye, possibly doom a little and later, jean, Elektra or antman). I think I covered most ways to deal with them and loki is better than every one of those for patch. especially when you add the purple board shake that can lead to some nasty cascades. with strikes out, those can end the match for you. drawback is loki is pretty low health too, so might need some health packs and take care with big nukes like cyke and cage.
