Advantages/Disadvantages

Ok so i have my Punisher now at 100, and my OBW at max and i nearly have my Thor at max too but now i have the option to either level my Iron man to max, my Marvel Now Magneto or Captain America(ugh) all to max.
I was thinking of Adding Iron man to My team of Punisher and OBW. Is that a good/bad idea? Can i get some suggestions please?

The way i see it is that OBW can heal my team and also steal AP for both Punisher and Iron man, while he can also give me the colours i need with his yellow power, thus feeding Punisher to do the damage while Iron man takes the brunt of the damage only to be healed by OBW. Now is this a good plan or what am i missing? Should i just finish maxing out my Punisher seeing as i have the level i want, 3-5-5? Or maybe just keep using Thor?

Problem with IM40 is that he will take priority over blue tiles so OBW can no longer match them. With Punisher matching black she will only be stealing purple with her espionage. While this keeps her safe it also limits her potential quite a bit. I would prefer to use Thor for now. His yellow is pretty nice and can either feed punisher or his own green skill.

Punished and OBW work well together if you have espionage at 4 covers. Her extra espionage damage gets a strike tile boost AFTER her match damage gets the strike tile boost, so it is essentially applied twice. Presumably, though she will eventually only hit on purple because IM40 will take blue and punisher will take black. It's a decent team, you just want IM40 for his health and his yellow, Punisher's Red will probably usually be the better option. You have the color spectrum covered so you never have dead matches and healing is always a benefit. Sounds decent to me.

You make good points, and I kinda love Thor been able to feed Punishers 5 green too hmmm decisions decisions. I suppose leveling him up won't be bad, I could always use him as back up.

Anyone have MN Magneto leveled up? I like the look of him as I don't really have anyone who could clear the board if I need it except maybe Storm.

One more thing, I recently started getting Modern Storm covers as I always had C.Storm instead. Is she worth leveling up too for goon matches? Ugh I have so many covers and so little iso lol

My vote is to push Punisher towards max. His skills scale with level, meaning more AoE damage, better strike tiles for OBW to take advantage of, etc. A max Punisher will be an A-teamer for you for a long time to come. Plenty of time to push IM40 later if you don't have better covers to level down the road.

What level opponents are you fighting?

I'm fighting 160 to low 200's and for Nevada I'm exclusively using a 31 M Storm, 85 Thor, and 116 Punisher. Punisher usually tanks (and dies) the big hits, as he protects the other two. But Thor's Yellow (and occasional green) plus Storm's Green and Red makes all of Nevada trivial.

MN magneto is basically there to feed blue tiles to someone. For example, if you're fighting 3xlvl 230's with painful heroes (Daken, Jugs, Ares etc) then you can go in with a blue purple +3 boost , MMN, Spidey and someone to do damage and you are basically 2 purple matches from a free win. He also works well with C.Storm because of her AoE blue.

As far as Thor goes my only reason for not levelling him is 3* thor just came out and is basically the exact same hero with a higher lvl cap. If you don't NEED Thor now maybe wait til you can get his covers and level the 3* instead.

Finally M.Storm is insanely good on Jungle/Desert boards for PvE even with you have higher level alternatives although you are using red and blue AP to basically earn a whole load of the other colours. As long as you can get a lot done with the other colours she's insane.

I've pushed my Punisher to max this week and am glad I did so. I've been using him in both pve and pvp and he's fantastic.

The reason why I stopped leveling Punisher at 100 is cause if I push him all the way to 141 then I don't have any other guys near his level to pair with except 3 85's and I've seen some people pushing a couple of heroes to the same level. But if WalkYourPath says level him then I must lol

Nah, do what makes you happy! If you really like one of those other 2* and they fit your playstyle, nothing wrong with pushing them up.

But if higher placement is your goal, then a max Pun will indeed make you happy. He gets buffed all the time for PvE, and a max 3* plus 2 max 2*s will do you right against the people running 3xMax 2* in PvP. I used to run IM40 maxed with Thor/Wolvie 2* when I was first transitioning to a 3* team, but if I had max covers for Punisher back then I would have pushed him first.

For what it's worth, I believe the spate of Punisher-buffed events should be ending soon. The pool of 3*'s is deep enough now that I expect them to lengthen the cycle for when a particular character is buffed (story needs aside).

That said, he's still a solid choice in PVP and will be for some time to come. And even unbuffed he'll still use retribution every time you see a 230 goon in PVE. So yeah, leveling him is worth it.

~150 last time I checked... prolly going to drop below 200 since I cannot reliably fight level 230 stuff - even with the broken Thor+mStorm+oBW combo I get destroyed in a few cascades way too often

Is that 150 in the main or the sub? If you're 150 in the main, I have zero sympathy for you.

I've finished in the top 200 for every sub (top 2500 in the main) and am facing lvl ~180 enemies. The way I play - low healing, no spidey stun, no extreme grinding - allows me to not get hit by the scaling as hard as others. Ice indicated those attributes as factors for scaling. If you're net-taking zero damage b/c of OBW, you're going to get creamed by scaling.

Yeah well there you go. I've been fighting level 230 the entire tournament and I'm only in the 400s. So you've had an easier time than me thus far and by the end of the tournament, that slightly easier factor has evaporated because you've exceeded your expectations.
