Hi folks!
I’m here to discuss this week’s special offers and to present to you our last Planeswalker for Battle for Zendikar!
Let’s start with this week’s special offer: the Green Pack.
This week, you can purchase special boosters that only contain Green cards! When you purchase boosters from this set, you will only loot Green cards. You can get cards from both Origins and Battle for Zendikar. Also as a bonus, when opening a Fat Pack, you are guaranteed an extra Rare card, and when opening a Big Box you are guaranteed an extra Mythic card.
Also new this week is the reward for top 10 in this week’s Quick Battle is a very sought-after Rare card - Desolation Twin!
For 21 mana, you get 2 creatures, each of which is a whopping 10/10. These Eldrazi twins are incredibly powerful and are sure to be putting a lot of pressure on your opponents.
Last but not least, we’re unveiling the last Planeswalker we’re adding to Battle for Zendikar: Sarkhan the Mad!
Sarkhan is a dual-colored Planeswalker, representing the Red and Black colors. As such, he’s incredibly strong, and comes with a special theme with Dragons.
Sarkhan’s first ability lets him draw a card at the cost of his life. At rank 4, this is rather cheap as it only costs 1 life and 3 Loyalty to draw a card, which is bound to be very useful with cheap Red cards.
His second ability, however, is where he starts to become hard to deal with. For 9 Loyalty, you can sacrifice one of your creatures and replace it with a Red Dragon with Flying. At rank 1, this Dragon is 3/3, but at rank 4, this Dragon is 6/6, making this a very powerful ability - sacrifice some weak creatures (or tokens, such as Eldrazi Scions!) and get a 6/6 with Flying out of it! This combos particularly well with some cards such as Voracious Null, which will get stronger every time you sacrifice one of your creatures.
His third ability, however, is where the synergy shines! At 18 Loyalty, you make every one of your Dragons on the board have an extra ability: When any Dragon creature you control attacks, they deal damage equal to their Power times 4 (at rank 4) to your opponent, before they deal any damage. This works with ANY card with the Dragon subtype, so it’s particularly useful with other cards such as Avaricious Dragon.
His mana gains are very good as well - at level 60, he gains +2 to Red and Black, and +1 to every other color.
The Sarkhan the Mad Special Offer includes Sarkhan, a BFZ Red and Black Fat Pack and 10000 Mana Runes. This exclusive offer is available now through June 10th. Sarkhan the Mad will not be available again until the end of June.

For Sarkhan's 2nd ability, the dragon tokens that he summons - are they the same exact dragon tokens that Dragonmaster Outcast summons? As in - will Sarkhan's dragon tokens and Dragonmaster Outcast's dragon tokens reinforce each other?0
-
Also - as for his 2nd ability, is "sacrifice" the same thing as the keywords "dies" or "destroyed"? Basically I am asking if Dark Petition will work on the "sacrificed" creature.0

Probably not. This issue happens with tokens from Zendikar's Roil and Garruk's 3rd ability too. Don't count on stacking.johnnyde76 wrote:Also - as for his 2nd ability, is "sacrifice" the same thing as the keywords "dies" or "destroyed"? Dark Petition should work to revive your sacrificed creature. I'm most certain it does with Fleshbag Marauder.0 -

No.
And Dark Petition works with Sacrificed creatures, yes.0 -
I'm already afraid of Sarkhan decks running Embermaw. Oh man.
And the dragon Dragonmaster Outcast summons is colorless, while Sarkhan's are Red, which is likely why they don't stack.
At least I know what I'm saving my crystals for now!0
