blank screen htc desire 601

Phone goes by different names, but here it's called the HTC Desire 601. Running whatever the latest version of Android is for that phone (4.4.2). In any case, I am getting a blank (black) screen immediately after the MARVEL logo, and it's not going away. Now, I know that it takes time to load the game sometimes, and it does every so often go into a blank screen on loading, but in this case, it doesn't seem to be moving past something. I have restarted the phone with no extra luck. Thanks for looking into it!
