The last couple weeks have been good to my 4* roster.

Between event finishes, Civil War alliance rewards, legendary tokens either purchased with CP or earned through CW progressions, and just good old fashioned luck from event/DDQ vaults, I've added something like 10-12 4* covers to my roster in the last two weeks or so. Granted, three of those are Winter Soldier and War Machine, so the actual progress on pre-existing characters is more like 7-9 covers, but still.

That's progress without feeling like I have to bash my head against a PVP mode I don't enjoy, or grind like mad for T10 placement in PVE.

The covers were spread around some; I think the only character who got two covers was War Machine, courtesy of my placement.

But you know? I'm okay with that. I don't mind my 4* growing slowly but steadily as long as it feels like forward progress. And that's kind of the conundrum for me. The last two weeks have been some of the most fun I've had with MPQ in a long time, because I've felt that progress. But my 4* progress comes in spurts that way because of when I'm able to play and how I enjoy playing. my main account is in a fairly casual alliance that consists of people I've known for years, so high-end alliance rewards aren't a source of covers for me; I so seldom play PVP because I just don't enjoy spending 5-10 minutes in a fight worth 40 points only to lose double or triple that while I'm fighting; and PVE I generally chase progressions rather than placement, but it's been a while since I've been able to regularly get the LT from the top progression.

So my 4* growth ends up being long stretches of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror.

I would love if the cover flow of the last two weeks became closer to the norm than what I usually see. 7 new covers in 14 days beats 2 covers in 30 days (one every 30 or so from the daily drop and the other from command point cash-ins).

/wistful sigh

I know what you mean. Between CW event, a few natural ones coming through champing, some good vault pulls, and someone in our alliance dropping enough to get everyone nearly 100 CP each, my towards the top end 3 star.png roster gained about 10 useful 4 star.png and 5 star.png covers.

This was generally the great month, especially because of CW runs.

Around the first CW run I got about 12 covers. Around the second run I got 10 covers. I don't mention a lot of 3* champion levels in that time also.

During those weeks I have max covered my first two 4* characters (HB and Fury) and for the first time I really feel the progression in 3*-4* transition.

If only we can get more ISO as well (double ISO event helped but there should be more such events to change the situation).

Thing is that it /should/ start becoming the norm around now. We are nearing 40 4* characters and I clearly remember that when that was the case with 3*s and they were moving into promoting the 4* tier, the increased opportunities to earn 3*s meant that I usually got a character close to fully covered within a month or so from it being released. Just doing the obvious thing and creating a 4* PVP event that rewards up to 3 placement 4* covers would easily take us to that point.

It's nice when 4* covers flow more regularly. Especially since they're not the highest covers anyway, so it doesn't really matter so much if people get them more often. Plus even when it's fully covered, you still need to spend around a month getting enough ISO to actually level it. So no worries devs about suddenly progression being too fast!

Yup. I had nearly every 3* fully covered before I even had one maxed 3*. I will probably approach 4* the same way - I may level them to be around the same level as my champion 3's once I have a goodly number fully covered, but I'm not going to go go "ooh, Fury is fully covered, let's max him right away!"

In part because I don't play PVP, but in part because I'm more methodical as a player than that.
