Wolverine 130 1/3/4. 2nd try, boosted to 100 percent match damage and added black to start and extremely lucked out with all back and yellow falling my way. Luckiest board I've ever had

My 2/5/2 XFW (level 170ish) has been mashed into the ground so far, using +2all/+2green/black/+50%green/black dmg. Attempted about 7 times, but had very bad luck with boards.

One time I almost had him down when he cascaded into 2 black match-3s in a row and burnt Wolvie to a nice Full Blast crisp.

Another time I had him down to half health and enough black AP was in range for that second Surgical strike. The AI had gathered enough red to fire an Optic Blasts but Wolvie was near full hp (a yellow recovery tile had just resolved) so he would be able to eat a single shot and still have ~1.5K hp remaining.
Well, that would have been the case. But then the AI cascaded into a skyfall purple match-6 resulting in a critical connecting with his colors and instantly taking 2.5K health. No fun

I beat him with those covers in the first round at max level. Took like 6 or 7 tries. Used all my best boosts, used his yellow once for a heal and once for damage.

Good to know it's possible. I just tried 5 (maybe 6) times and already wasted all my boosts. No chance for me.

Brought my level 111 Wolvie to level 127. He's 3/3/5 right now. +50% G/B, +50% R/Y, +2 G/B AP boosts didn't do it.

Boosted him to level 140 and got it on the first try by hard denying red and soft denying black/yellow. There was a ton of yellow, he fired Sexy Pose twice, but he only got to 11 red on his last match with double digit health remaining. I fired my yellow once, which Cyc nuked in a match 4, never got to heal.

to bring her to 1/1/4... not bad!

3/4/3, lvl 111, no boosts, 2nd try.

Managed to clear out tiles at the right times and got good boards. Only times he used an ability were yellow twice after I'd used surgical strike so he got nothing.

Got a Spider-Gwen for my troubles.

First try with level 274 X-Force. (3/5/5). I ate one Cyclops Red and one Black but used a recovery in between to heal up. I got two Surgical strikes in total.

Tried this about 12 times today. Started with a L133 5/2/5 XFW, eventually leveled him to 165, still didn't win. Cyc just kept cascading into red or black every match and one-shotting me.

Worst was when I had him down to 1k health while I still had 4k, he fell into a match-5 red and killed me. Eventually had to stop blowing health packs on it due to Civil War.

And because MPQ loves to taunt me, I pulled a green XFW from a vault today, that of course is one of the only 4* covers in the game I can't use.

After a few more losses, I was able to pull it off. It was very close, had to take the risk of having Cyke fire his red in order to gain enough black AP for that second Surgical Strike, and the resulting cascade left Wolvie with 150ish health. . But he barely hung on and got that second SS in, downing Cyclops.

Recevied a red cover for XFDP, bringing him to 1/2/1. Slowly getting there xD

Addendum: At 2am, on my 15th attempt, I completely lucked out and won. Part of it was a lucky board, getting a few green and black matches while denying red and yellow, which let me get him into the killing range.

But it really came down to the last play, where Cyc had enough red to kill me on his next move, but I lucked into a match-5, which created a critical tile that I turned into a match-4 and hit him for his remaining 1700.

Reward: Hulkbuster, now 5/3/4. One of the best covers I could have asked for.

You guys made me think I stood a decent chance with my 3/5/3 Wolvie, so I dumped a ton of my iso into him to bring him up to my championed three stars' levels (177) and I still kept getting my butt handed to me six ways from Sunday. I eventually gave up because it was eating so many health kits. If nothing else, this really hammers home the fact that 3 star Cyclops is amazing and X-Force Wolverine is garbage - unsurprisingly, he's also the only nearly fully-covered 4 star I have.

I am sitting on 240k ISO-8 and am thinking I might benefit more from championing my Ant-Man (lvl 182 5/5/3) with the newly acquired covers from CW:2nd run.. My only issue is that my 3* Patch is sitting at 182 and next cover level gives an Xforce cover... This is my dilemma. I don't know when the next patch cover will come (DDQ i suppose, Jun 25 giving me a month to save up another 247k iso-8 to champ Xforce?). I kinda want the Xforce, but the Ant-man covers will give a leg up for the main 4* i use in the big enchilada every day

Ant-Man or Xforce....

So I champed Ant-Man. Had no issue with completing the COTT with my Xforce on the second try. I used 100% match damage and also 2+ap all and +2 green black.

Denied black and red and yellow whenever i could and got a couple lucky cascades from my green power and then had enough ap in black with enough red tiles on the board to kill him in one hit (7k damage).

I am still going to champ him ASAP because I got a 3*patch from the Iron Man vault..

Thanks to the BigRussian for the kind words.

I did beat him 2nd time out (first time I got torched by a bad cascade and a Full Blast). Second time I hit him with X-Force for about 1.2k and followed it with a Surgical Strike that dropped him. I got lucky on black pick-up and red denial.

...and I got Hot Dog Stand out of it. I still remember, because I'm still salty.
