Rocket & Groot PvE - Let's see the scores!

Finally, fellow forumites! After years of only seeing the scoreboard light up with new record highs in PvP events, we can now grind endlessly 20 points at a time to bring the same pinball scores to PvE!

So take a moment to share your feats of grinding drudgery all made possible by the new system. A system designed to allow you to play whenever you want (which is 24 hours a day for placement)

Personally, after a standard start on sub 1, I was able to rack up 38000 points in sub 2 and win the sub by over 4k. This was made possible thanks to some long taxi and train rides where I was able to utilize my 5* characters to win every match in 2-3 turns. It is entirely possible that I played the game more during those two days than I ever have. So if engagement and being "plugged in" is the dev goal....mission accomplished.

To achieve this score I used......0 healthpack.png and spent no money on the game whatsoever! I doubt, however, that this was a developer goal.

My apologies to others in my bracket. I wasn't planning to embark on this little test of my own to match that of the devs, but free time happened and I wanted the Cyke covers. For the sake of my sanity, I really hope this does not become the norm. I don't feel like doing this again, especially on a 7 day event. My data plan can't handle the abuse.

My T1 is at 88K with 8 hrs to go in S2.
    Second is at 80.6K.

Reasonable scores start with #8 with 65K or so.

I'm at 60.7K after doing 7/7 in the first two subs and 4/7 in the third sub.

No dog in the fight since I won't be competing for a top 10 no matter what the format since I won't grind past check marks but all things considered I'd rather see people who are grinding all day get top spots over guys who set an alarm clock more efficiently. If someone has the time and patience to do all that grinding they should be able to finish at the top of the leaderboard.

T2 in my bracket are at 81k and 80k respectively and are 20k ahead of third.

My test to play exactly as I did in the last few tests has left me in 31st (in previous test pve I placed t10 every time)

Honestly I agree with the previous post, if someone is willing to grind an easy node 7-10k times to get first they deserve it. But they have no right to complain about how much the New system makes them grind when this event has shown the most absurd amount of grinding ever.

Some players are grinding those 20 point fights to "prove a point" to D3... but all it's going to do is give them false data about where max progression should have been set, and we'll see it skyrocket on the next "scaling test" pve.

I sincerely hope that they don't base progression on the results here, but I did want to prove a couple of points.

First, I wanted to determine what it would take to gain top placement with the new format for a real prize, Cyclops. Better rewards means that the vets should be more likely to participate. People questioned whether poor rewards and low turnout were creating a false positive for people that were all of a sudden placing higher.

Second point was to see how much that 20 point node could be abused. Wow. I can't believe that there were people who hit that node 4-500 times more than I did. My alliance mates were calling ME crazy, haha.

BTW - my preference is straight progression playing when I want to. I don't like having such a low progression with good placement rewards. Feels like you're grinding away for a couple of days for nothing.

There is a very simple solution to this scenario, the trivial nodes lock after x amount of clears or even when they reach 20 points and placement gets settled by grinding the tougher nodes.

The really sad part, the devs locked the prologue because they didn't want players to grind hour after hour for 20 iso. So, how is grinding for hours at a time for 20 points any different?

Tbh I feel like a real winner here and pity every single person who spent hours grinding single node to "prove" a point. On this event I've spent less time than on any event so far while playing optimaly. My scores was enough to be in top10 in every single bracket aside one, and even there I wouldn't complain for ending in top20. That was first event in a really long time where I could honestly didn't bother with staying up till 2am or waking up way earlier in a morning just to "play optimally", situations where I could oversleep clear time or some mistakes due to beeing so tired and that could ruin my chance for top10. Really I prefer to lose to some maniacs willing to spend hours just to be ahead. And be honest with yourself guys who farmed this node hundreds of times - how long in a row you'll be able to repeat that? 2 events? 3? 4? Because I know that with this system I could playing optimally for a year and still enjoy it. Now Im about to start 3rd clear in iso-8 brotherhood and even tough it's double iso (hey! that's what everyone wanted) I hate the fact that I have to plan my day around this event, then I have to be back for it in next 6h just to farm before end of sub and even more that I had to wait till 2am to do my 2nd clear.

slice 5 that opened about 10-11 hrs into sub 1, so sub 1 end-grind was not as fully refreshed. I joined at around 200.

    10. 70255

just for reference, I did not stay up for the flip. end grind usually ended 2 hrs before sub end and I started next sub about 5 hours after opening, but I cannot commit that much time in the mornings every single day. if this is implemented I'm not sure how i'll manage the sub openings. I did grind some on the bottom node - probably a few dozen times in all. and I ended about 500 pts above 11th, so that grinding solidified my t10. that is a dumb system. congrats to those top 2 - node-grinding beasts - I'd be curious to know just how many grind matches that was in all.

I'm so glad I just play for progression on the non new release PvEs. Joined 2 days from the end, grinded the second to last sub for all the rewards and the last sub for the CP and 500 ISO nodes, got my max progression and called it a day

Veteran bracket, s2. Top score was 91930, 10th score was 75811.

I was 41001. Hit my goals of 25 cp, top 300 or better each round and top 200 for the end. Plus it was good enough to make it into a Top 100 PVE alliance. Go team!
