5* Steve Rogers downed himself?

I was just using a team of Jean Grey, 5* Cap and Classic Mags in Lightning Rounds, just for fun. Went up against SW, BP and CMags.

Other team is down to BP and Mags. BP does Battleplan and Rage of the Panther. I hit a cascade with Cap tanking. The cascade creates a critical tile which I believe was either a)created with an enemy yellow strike tile or b) matched with the strike tile. But instead of doing massive damage to enemy BP, it looks like my Cap took the damage and downed himself! Control then switched to the enemy side and they took their turn. ****? Has this happened to anyone else?
