Quick Battle Event question

Apologies if this is posted elsewhere but I wasn't able to find anything.

I wanted to participate in the current quick battle event (Bala Ged) but whenever I fight the next round all I see is a screen that shows Gideon's Phalanx and noting "this round is over". I get credit for matches won but all that happens is the final rank goes down by 4 each time. Is there something I am missing to enter the current round? I have only casually played so far but can't find anything on this and if this is normal.
