Hi Everyone -

Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and Ob Nixilis, Reignited is now available in the vault for 250 Mana Crystals. We don't have it listed on the Activity Hub quite yet, so to find it, just go to the Vault in the game and tap on the Planeswalkers Tab. You can learn all about these new Planeswalkers by clicking on the "circle i" in their square.

These are the first two of the new batch of Planeswalkers available in the game and we will be releasing the other Planeswalkers for crystals in the coming weeks.

Thank you for playing!

Are these here for a limited time or should we expect them to hang out there indefinitely?

How much runes is needed to level up a planeswalker from 1 to 60 ?
I'm also assuming that them 250 crystals planeswalker (or cash) are level 1. I don't know.
And finally when will Kiora be available for runes.

It took 79.920 runes to get Ob Nixilis to level 60.

He's an absolute blast to play. I'm really enjoying piloting him.

That much is way too high they need to cut it. Especially when they start charging $50 and 250 crystals for planeswalkers.

That is the same as the original planeswalkers. Kiora takes more, but she is the only one I've seen so far.

When is Kiora in store? To me she is the character worth spending my saved runes for. I was not impressed with the new planeswalkers in playing QB. I was expecting total destruction from them

Well, Ob Nixilis and Gideon were for sale for $ on 4/21. That's about 3 weeks ago. They put the Kiora post up a week ago, so I'd guess about 2 weeks.

The computer player misplays Ob Nixilis. He has 3 abilities - draw cards, kill a creature, put an Emblem onto the field with "Whenever anyone draws a card, your opponent takes 8 damage".

What the computer player does, though, is spam the first ability, even when it has a full grip of 6 cards. The computer player never discards. So the first ability might as well read "pay 3 loyalty, lose 1 life". Which is fine by me when I'm facing him.

If you get a chance to play Ob Nixilis, it's much different. You'll be able to discard cards to improve card selection, you'll be able to hold kill spells fully charged waiting for the optimal time to cast them. You'll be able to determine whether it's better to cast the emblem or hold the 18 loyalty back to kill 2 creatures. Stuff like that.

I would note that, although it is a lot of fun to pilot a monoblack control deck with Ob Nixilis, it isn't any faster than simply playing an aggressive Chandra or Nissa deck. On a Ribbons Per Hour basis in PvP mode, there isn't really an advantage to obtaining either of the new planeswalkers. OTOH, Kiora looks like she actually could pilot a faster deck than anyone.

They've been very evasive about how much Kiora will cost when she is available. My suspicion is that since they charged $14.99 to buy a regular planeswalker package and $49.99 to buy the Kiora planeswalker package, they might charge a substantial number of crystals when she is finally released. It wouldn't surprise me if it's 1,000 or more crystals for Kiora once she's available.

If you're playing Magic puzzle quest, your opponent is a CPU.

So all players fight the cpu but not against each other to collect most ribbons in QB?

Yes, only the deck list is created by players. So if you're duelling say against me in QB, you would be playing against the AI piloting my deck.

Kind of disappointed. The grinding seems pointless and time waste. Considering the prices you would think you're facing real opponent as in real card game. I hope they add a tournament mode where players can face each others which includes a turn timer to prevent idling. A need for converting ribbons collected into some form of currency is necessary to make grinding worth the time, effort and less painful. 3000 pll compete and always the dedicated 1% rips the reward.
