Reasons to keep playing?

I'm getting really tired of this.
The game was fun in the beginning but got in a bad state really fast.
Why keep playing right now?

If I get packs i will not open caus some cards are not lootable, so while I will accumulate some I will not feel the progression.

If I want to get planeswalker I have to fight with 2999 pals wanting it. On those at the very least 50 havr a lot time to spend. I have too but being in EU i lose the best 3 hours(at least) to check last time sprints.
Also assuming u don't like to play this much in itself(and I do not) it is best to wait to prizes to return the old way.
I will get 500 crystals and a big box.
That's 250 crystals net gain(if all walkers prize is 250.

If I want to runes here is no point to do it right now.
Planeswalker level is expensive yes but I will not get many of them till my collection is better. That alone will need time and so many QBs that I will for sure have runes needed naturally by then.

If I want to get more crystals through campaign I need to do the same encounter 5 times.
That is really boring.

Playing QB for natural sense of competition is pointless for two reasons:
- you face an AI and still at this time a stupid AI
- since only number of wins is what matters it favors fast wins. This forces using the fastest planeswalker to stay competitive.
While this was not that big of an issue pre patch cause Gideon and nissa were the best but Chandra was not too far behind, now is Chandra or bust.

I think I will join the people that just login and wait for something to change.

    1) It's really hard to find good mobile games to play

Um.... there's probably some more reasons as well...

I am just logging 2-3 times a day for the free booster, that now I understood doesn't even have all the cards....
I join QB 2-3 hours before it ends (I'm in EU too), play for 30-60 minutes to get to a somewhat good position and go to bed. Of course in the time left I get passed a lot, but I always get at least 10-20 crystals this way.
So I am playing only 3 days a week, and I play for only 30-60 minutes, hoping that something will change.

Such a shame. Perhaps in a couple years more companies will release quality games that aren't F2P? I have a feeling more and more people just wan't a good game and are getting fed up with the F2P model.

Some points, in no particular order:

    * You will never own all of the cards without spending thousands of dollars every few months. Paper Magic comes up with a new Standard set every 3 months, with approximately 150 to 250 new cards per set. I've never seen anyone on this board report that they own a complete set of Origins, even when they've been playing since the beginning. Unless they come up with some way for people to easily obtain specific cards for a reasonable price, this should not be your goal.

    * You can build a perfectly serviceable deck using nothing but commons and uncommons in all colors. In paper Magic, rarity is based on a card's usefulness in limited / draft / sealed (that is, where you buy packs, open them and play only with those cards you just opened). Often times, a card is common because it's very, very good, while rares and Mythics are sometimes more specialized.

    * In PvP mode, there is zero advantage to being in the first bracket. None whatsoever. The first 3,000 people are going to include the tryingest of the try-hards. You can slog it out for several hours a day and not even make it into the top 150. It's much easier to wait 12 to 24 hours after an event begins before joining. If your goal is to get some crystals and a rare, this is quite doable. If your goal is to be in the top 10, then recognize that it is basically your full time job.

    * They recently changed Story Mode, so that you get crystals if you win the story with one Planeswalker of each color. If you want to have a fun and varied experience, and possibly some deck building challenges, then that's probably preferable to slogging it out in the first bracket of PvP.

    * You don't need all the planeswalkers. In Story Mode, all challenges can be defeated using the walkers you already have. In PvP, you can win the vast majority of your games using the existing walkers. Of the walkers, Kiora is best, if only because she allows a 2-color deck (plus her abilities are insane). New Gideon is better than Old Gideon, but how often do you play with Gideon? Koth and Garruk are different from Chandra and Nissa, but you can win faster with Chandra and Nissa. An Ob Nixilis control deck could probably rack up a 100 game win streak if you have a good card pool, but the games would be long and grindy. Tezzeret would be fun with Thopter Spy Network, but Jace is also fun with Thopter Spy Network.

If your goal is to win top 10 in every PvP challenge, you will be angry and frustrated and probably develop carpal tunnel syndrome. If your goal is to play a fun game, win some crystals in most challenges, and check in often enough to get your daily rewards, this can be easily done. It's all a matter of managing your expectations.
