2*'s besides OBW + Thor?

I'm not super new, I've got an 85 Thor, and a 54 OBW, and an 89 Psyloch and between them, I can pretty much guarantee myself at least two 3* rewards from any given event. Is there any reasonable justification for a player at my status to use any 2* (unbuffed) who isn't OBW + Thor? Sure Daken can be annoying, Wolverine is pretty decent, but really, I'd rather just steal all their mana and one-shot their team.

Cover drops aside, why would anyone do anything else?

When I start getting competitive with people with teams of 3* heroes, will there start to be more diversity?

Some people don't have the luxury of having covered out Thors/OBWs. Your 2* team largely depends on whose covers you get first: a team like MN Mags + C. Storm would perform on a similar level to OBW/Thor, for instance. I also think that OBW/Wolvie is a better team composition due to strike tile synergy, but your Psylocke covers that.
  • If You're able to win / place in top5 in the tourneys, I don't see much reason to level other **star chars. Get OBW to 85 and keep on leveling Psylocke. I'm running OBW + Punisher, and Betty has quite similar role like Frank, so she should work well with OBW.

For sure, I agree there's no reason to level any more 2*'s really. It was more an academic question. I guess the previous point makes sense as well, you really just need to get to the point where you can win 3*'s, then it doesn't really matter who you use.
  • The other 2* characters only shine when they are buffed in tournaments. Still, those tournaments can have rewards that you want...

Ares - as much or more "stay away" power as Juggernaut. Good in case they throw another DA tourney.
MN Magneto - blue battery for Spider-Man, red power for AP grab. No need to level.
Bag-Man - a level 460 Bag-Man will be the final battle in the game. It will be easy.
Moonstone - great red attack in a DA or Ladies Only tournament. Mostly useless.
OBW - cheap steal, full heal, timer delay, passive theft, added damage. Of course you level her.
MN Thor - Only level if you lack solid 3* fighter. Green battery
Daken - Great when Wolverine is not available. Suggest fully leveling.
Bullseye - Puny little man is only dangerous at level 230.
Cap - Get to 40 or 50 because he is boosted frequently in PvE.
Modern Hawkeye - Same as Cap. Save your ISO until they make changes.
    C. Storm - Not a deterrent to high-level PVP players. Okay in boosted events.

Mag-neat-oh-now! and Classic Storm are pretty great together. But ultimately, diversity starts at home...don't wait on the competition to give you variety, Make that elusive Moonstone/Bagman/Bullseye team that no one sees coming.

I dropped Thor for those- I like Ares and OBW combo better- She keeps him healthy and provides extra AP- If the enemy has too many people with good green powers I go back to Thor
  • OBW is clearly ahead of the pack in 2*, but beyond OBW there's not much separation in the 2*. Wolverine and Daken naturally makes the most sense to go with OBW amongst the 2*s, though you really should just use whoever you happen to have the best covers for unless that 2* is Bagman or Captain America.

Cap has value just because he's always boosted in events- when he can tank and protect key members and when he get rolling with his return AP skills he's good to destroy those 230 team timers

Captain America is good for PvE, but not so much for PvP.

agreed- he has to be used very carefully and the AI just can't when you get attacked in PvP
  • Obw is the only 2 I've maxed out. I'll still dump iso into other ones when they're buffed for something, but I've been collecting 3's easy enough without investing in 2's much.

I would still max your obw, she's used in a lot of events.
  • I've been using Daken and I find his strike tile production to go well with Thor and OBW. My most covered 3* is a 9 cover Magneto so I run a full 2* team and have loved Daken since I got him fully covered.

I rode him for a while. Teams up well with Rags, Thor, and Hulk.

I'd love a Gold Daken with a third power.
  • Awesome tips bros. I was kind of wondering and pretty much thinking about this subject as to which characters would work well together as opposed to just using my maxed out Thor, Ares, and Wolverine to try and just bully whoever I come across. This tactic didn't really work as well as I thought.

While I auto-skip any triple-maxed teams in PvP, I'm more intimidated by Thor + OBW + C.Storm/Daken, level-for-level, than three hitters who all use red/green.

OBW steals & heals, C.Storm ripostes any non-lethal heavy hits AOE-style, and Daken will wage a slow war of attrition while annoying you with his far-too-time-consuming Pheromone Rage animation.
  • I hated the Daken's passive animations any time I had to fight against him, SO annoying!

Then I started playing with him on my side, the animations stop bothering you, slip into your subconscious and are merely a reminder that everything is working properly icon_e_smile.gif

Except when you forget to pay attention to yellows and Daken has eaten himself down to half health while you weren't paying attention, oops
  • A gold Daken with a 3rd power would be overpowered as is. Heck, if you add a 3rd power to current Daken he would be on everyone's 2* team and a lot of 3* teams. Two decent strike tiles simply for matching green? Thank you very much icon_e_smile.gif Matched with any green user and you have a dream team.
