Passive special power banners

I notice that since the latest patch (R100), many passive powers now display the banner when they are activating. Is this only a cosmetic feature or is there any reason behind it ? (I can imagine the extra wait-time may be used for other checks to prevent glitch or bug.) If this is only a cosmetic feature, is it possible to implement a way to disable it ? It is now very distracting and disrupting the flow of the game. I understand that for new players this feature helps clarify what is going on a lot. But for experienced player, I don't think this feature add anything to the game play at all.

    completely agree. very disruptive and detracts from the game experience. bogs everything down without adding anything of substance. please remove.
