Powers are consistent. Purple power becomes Surprise after the initial use, regardless of if the invisibility tile exists or not.
I won on my 3rd attempt with my lvl 120, 3/5/3, +2 rainbow, +2 r/y, +2b/p.
All came down to web tile management and denying red/purple.0 -
My 1/3/2 Gwen did not have a good time, but I finally managed after 6 or so tries and a lot of boosts.
This match-up does drive home how much better Miles is as a character, though.0 -

How exactly is Miles better? Spider-Gwen has a 10,000 dmg nuke that can be used for 6 AP, can stun 2 enemies for 2 turns for 6 AP... Yup, thats terrible! err wait
Miles has a **** red stun that doesnt do very much damage, an overpriced purple that requires too much setup, a fairly weird-**** yellow that half works (no bonus AP on 2 web tiles match, destroy webs dont pay out either, 1 AP isnt very good either)
Not sure how you can say Miles is better0 -

My gwen is also 1/3/2. Won on the 5th try.
Feed miles yellow-I was intentionally setting up yellow 4-matches for him. Don't use red until it only cost 6AP. In a loosing battle(2nd or 3rd attempt) I was 2 AP short of firing a final cherry bomb that would have downed him and I was kicking myself for firing an early one for 9AP before I made a red match that included a web tile. I assumed that maybe the tile removed would be the one in the match I wanted to make but it isn't worth it. Patience in firing your red is the key to this one of r low cover/level peeps0 -

1/3/2 is also my coverage. Are you maxed lvl'd? I tried at 100, 110 and 120 w/o any success.0 -

To me, the primary function of Miles' purple is cheap invisibility, which gives you plenty of time to set up the damage component of the power. Personally I think Gwen's red is a much worse case of 'takes too long to set up'. Yes, potentially it's 6 AP per use, but it takes a lot of time and effort to get there, especially if your opponent doesn't make any web tiles for you.
As for stuns, in a one on one matchup Gwen's is nicer because of the longer duration, but in a normal match-up the fact that it's random ruins it for me. If I want to use a stun, it's because I want to keep a specific character from using a power for at least one turn, so I'd rather take Miles' single turn and a bit of damage to get the result I want than having to rely on blind luck with Gwen. Granted, Gwen's becomes very effective once you've taken out one member of the opposing team, but again that requires some setup.
As for yellow... Miles' AP gain from web tiles might not be much, but it's still a lot better than a useless bit of burst healing that doesn't even affect Gwen herself.
I wouldn't consider Miles more than a mid-tier 4*, but the fact that he can turn invisible, can help out with AP generation and can stun a single enemy for a bit if needed would make him somewhat useful as a utility/support character. All Gwen really has going for her is a red nuke, but for a 4* red nuke both Hulkbuster and Cyclops are much better options.0 -
1/3/1 at the level cap on my second try. All/R&Y damage boosts and +2 All AP.
LT gave me a Quake Yellow. Being 2/2/1 would have helped if she was up next (if only for levels) but going back to older characters will be a great boon for me.0 -

Level 128 because that is all the iso8 I had this morning and I wasn't going to do anything too adventurous. I didn't use any boosts b/c I didn't think it mattered, either I was going to get 18 red AP or I was going to go down.0 -

Yeah, someone else said the same in my alliance chat. I didn't remember that from his DDQ, and it is stupid ("You can see me, but 'Surprise!' anyway.") but it is what it is.
Another tip if you are still playing: if you match a web tile, Miles gets AP. Try not to match web tiles.
Won with 3/2/2 lvl 125. Had to increase levels to win - more red would make it easier. Took three times after leveling her. Pulled Purple Spider-Man, who now has a usable power set at 2/2/1.0 -

I feel Miles on his own just doesnt do much of anything. I ran his numbers on purple and its just so underwhelming (5/3/5 build, it ends up being like 429/AP with two casts of and 1 cast of if all web tiles survive which is not likely, it ends up being more 320/AP realistically).
Gwen's stun is random but its a 66% chance to stun the one you want to, I like those odds. With one character down, you can effectively stun-lock the other team for a long time indeed which makes it even easier to put out more webs.
Ideally they go well together. Miles' yellow is better, Gwen has the superior red and they can certainly share the purple.0 -
Sluggo wrote:Tried this a few times with a 2/1/1 L90 Gwen. At that low level, just 6 red for Miles means game over.
I don't think it's impossible, as I got him under 5000 twice, but it would just take a lot of good luck to keep him from eventually reaching 6 red, especially since he also gets AP via web tiles.
Yeah the same problem than mine. 1/2/1 level 94 just 5000 hitpoints. If Miles gets 6 red Ap, I am done. I think if I had one more cover I would be able to do it, but not like this. I hate that I can't buy a stupid red cover for 2500HP ...
I am really pissed, this is my first fail this cycle ( last cycle I just failed with CapFalcon), so again I could not get all LTs0 -
I've tried 4 times with my lvl 130 3/4/2 Gwen and I'm not trying again until she heals on her own. Her yellow only heals teammates. Her purple stuns but does no damage. Yes her read is good, but basically you have to save up enough to hit Miles 2 or 3 times at once while denying him all colors.
If you deny Red, he will get off his yellow. Yes, that helps you, but as above if you don't already have enough Red to nuke him down completely, he will gain quick AP through Web tile matches and kill you off quickly.
If you deny Yellow, he will get enough of his cheap Red to stun you and take you down. At my level, 2 Venom Blasts will kill Gwen.
If you deny Purple, he will get Red/Yellow and...well, see above.
Gwen is garbage.0 -
This was definitely challenging. Took 12 tries with my lvl140 2/3/4. Was trying dmg boosts initially, then switched to +2 R/Y, +2 B/P, +2 All. Denied red like crazy, then purple, then yellow in that priority. Left any match 4's if not those colors. Pooled 18 red and along the way had enough for 2 stuns. He did get invis, but by the time I was ready he was out. He got yellow off late (luckily) and that when I downed him with 3 red abilities.0
-
0/5/1, lvl 106 Gwen. The 5 red helps a ton and I beat him with literally 2 red casts in one turn. Your best bet is to hunt red, deny purple, GIVE him yellow. His yellow helps you out big time by making your red cheaper and it hits like a truck at 5 covers.
= go figure
Puts her at 1/5/1.0 -

I love that this thread has devolved into an argument about the relative strength of two thoroughly mediocre 4*s!
Gwen's two good powers are probably slightly better than any of Mile's powers. BUT, gwen's yellow is absolutely terrible, much worse than Miles'. And both of them take too long and are too contingent to be of any real value in PVP (or super high-level PVE).
They are both pretty irrelevant as soon a player gets any of the 1st or 2nd tier 4*s covered and leveled.0 -
I did it with lv 100 1/2/2 Gwen with r/y AP boost, r/y dmg boost, and rainbow dmg boost.
Denied purple and red, Miles matched yellow instead of a couple critical purple. Yellow doesn't heal Gwen so save it until you have 12 or even 18 red to case your yellow to reduce red cost and 2-3 shots down Miles. Use purple to prevent Miles getting his 7th purple or 6th red. I was lucky that match damage took Miles down to <5k and 2 cherry bombs finished him.0 -
6 or so tries with 1/3/1. Got a good board where I got 25 red AP saved up and Miles got a yellow and a purple off which I quickly matched away the next turn. With a 50% match damage boost Miles had 9K health at that point and I just fired off 3 reds in a row.
Add another legendary to the stockpile.0 -
I did get this done yesterday with my 1/3/2 coverage. Had to max lvl her to 131 Plus, +2RY/ALL/ and R/Y damage.
Hoarding my LTs.0 -
Hi-Fi has confirmed that Fury as the next 4* DDQ is deliberate, but also that there will be an XFW 4* DDQ later this month.
I suspect this means that Fury will be one of the boosted (required?) 4* characters for Civil War round 2 when it starts in about 2 weeks.0
