Patch Notes Magic: The Gathering - Puzzle Quest v1.4.1

Patch Notes 1.4.1 - Fixed multiple bugs!

Bug Fixes & Improvements

Full list of Bug Fixes...

Purchase fixes:
There was an issue with some purchases that were not going through, resulting in players getting charged and not receiving their purchases. This has been fixed.

Planeswalker fixes:
Several Planeswalker abilities did not stack as intended. Gideon, Battle-Forged was severely affected by this, and now all 3 of his abilities properly stack. You can, for example, use Sharp Eyes multiple times on a single creature to grant it +1/+1 multiple times. This fix also applies to multiple encounters in Story mode, which did not properly stack their buffs through their abilities.

Card fixes:
Bring to Light no longer freezes the board when cast. An issue with evergreens displaying in the wrong color when a 2nd creature is cast after one is Disabled then Destroyed is fixed. Gruesome Slaughter now correctly lasts only for a single turn. Wasteland Strangler’s process ability now correctly stacks when reinforcing it. In addition, Wasteland Stranger’s card text now correctly shows it only happens when it’s owner summons a creature, not both players. Multiple creatures would apply buffs to creatures that would remain through being Destroyed (and would still be applied once the creature is Returned). These buffs are now removed when the creature is Destroyed. The following card’s buffs no longer remain:
    - Drana, Liberator of Malakir - Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen - Patron of the Valiant
Dust Stalker is now properly Destroyed when it’s life reaches 0 instead of returning to it’s owner’s hand while there are no other colorless creatures on the battlefield.
A display bug with card mana no longer happens when casting Ugin’s Insight and Sanctum of Ugin.
Emeria Shepherd now correctely returns the last Destroyed creature or Support instead of the first.
Gideon’s Reproach no longer freezes the board when destroying a Token creature.
A bug where a card’s description failed to display after removing a different card from your deck has been fixed.

Text fixes:
Ob Nixilis’ ability names have been changed:
Sacrifice of Knowledge is now called Dark Pact. Sacrifice of Destruction is now called Torment. Ignite is now called Forbidden Knowledge.
The Blight Herder encounter has a new lore text.
The Vile Aggregate encounter has a new lore text.

Card changes:
Aligned Hedron Network has been reworked:
The card is now a spell that disables each creature with power 5 or more until the beginning of your next turn. It’s cost has been decreased to 3. This support was far too strong and had too much of an impact on the game, and so had to change.

    Nice fixes.
Also gideons reproach bugged on tokens only?
Makes sense cause the only time i can remember was on scion tokens...

I am surprised that you took time to balance a card and did not even try a little to balance chandra first skill.
Even rising the loyallty to 4 just to see the impact would have made sense.

Even though there is a vocal agreement on the community forums that it is too OP, it may be that their data shows it balances the QB.

Another issue may be that lots of players (like me) saw how good Chandra was now and spent their runes leveling her from 1 to 60. They might not want to nerf her right away and risk negatively impacting peoples experience without a compelling metagame imbalance.

On the metagame balance side, I have actually lost a few QB's and regularly need to switch PW'ers now instead of being able to grind with just one PW'er never losing life let alone games like I did before the 1.4 patch. So I'd say they are meeting their stated goals of making players switch PW'ers.

On the other hand, to paraphrase Mark Rosewater: "Players are really good at spotting problems, but finding the best solution... not so much."

JC has already said they're likely going to rebalance her by increasing the cost of her first ability. Just remember that the patch was probably uploaded a week and a half ago to the app store but they had to wait this long before it gets approved. The Apple approval process is notoriously slow.
  • Aligned Hedron Network has been changed to... a card that will never ever see play. GJ. Please change Hixus while you are at it, too. Waste of my once a month mythic.

Also, any reason that the horrible, god awful in-game lag that makes the game unplayable is not being addressed!?!

It takes so long for a menu to pop up that I have to wonder if I even clicked it in the first place. This is inexcusable and needs to be fixed with the quickness. Unless you want new players to be pushed away from your game for technical reasons (which I nearly was when I first started playing)?

Agreed, the lag is crazy horrible. I have almost thought acouple times that the game froze up on me, than suddenly the quick battle screen FINALLY came up!!

I would really like to see "Devoid spells are colorless" in one of these patch notes.

    It says today.

It does, but last time it was pushed back, I was wondering if this patch is having the same fate as the server update.......

I don't know if they have anything to do with each other but they've uploaded the official BFZ card list to their site. Though it's still super janky to use, and they don't even have the latest version of Shrine of the Forsaken Gods, nor have any of the original Origins cards been updated. I think you guys should start a grassroots campaign to get me hired on full time to make their site easier to use. What do you say? icon_e_biggrin.gificon_e_biggrin.gificon_e_biggrin.gif

Lets do it!! Meto for office!!! LOL
  • I support Meto getting compensated for something the devs should have done anyway. For sure. He is doing their work for them, making an incomplete game complete.
