Is there a way to side load MPQ on a Kindle?

Would like to start a fresh game and think my Kindle Fire would be a good place to do it but I can't access the Google Play store and can't find a side load apk. Is the reason it is not available because IAPs may not work?

EDIT - Suspect it is time to root my fire and make it a real android tablet.

    You hit the nail on the head. The current version isn't linked up to the Amazon Store, so there's no (easy) way to do any IAPs on it.

    Just for the record, I do run MPQ on my Kindle Fire with cyanogenmod (Jellybean) loaded. It works like a charm. I don't miss the old Amazon faux-android setup at all.
