Wouldnt it be good....

If there was a function to link your game profile to your forum profile so that people could go into your username, and there under user stats was a link to view your roster...
This would save on the posts asking what people go with for builds as im sure they mostly depend upon recognised names to answer those posts and could instead just check out peoples rosters (reading maxed abilities etc) and make their own mind up?
Im sure posts would still arise asking these questions but I for one would like to be able to be nosey without having to bump into one of you guys in an event in order to check your roster out.

Opinions??

  • That would pretty much destroy the advantage of us forum go-ers have over normal players.
  • Effort vs reward vs return

The scale is way way off in this suggestion. Interesting idea but I'm afraid it's probably out of the question.
  • Im just thinking that people answer best build questions all the time and state what build they use, so why try to hide the roster? Its not like it would create a swarm of non forum goers and newbies to come in and snoop around to take advantages away?
    Just an idea though

Like in some of those games that show a banner? That would be cool I guess. But I think it would be impractical/impossible to achieve due to multiple platforms.

Well if I could use myself as an example, I'm a fairly knowledgable forum member. If someone would go to my roster for the purpose which you stated, checking builds, they might look at my 5 yellow IM40. Very obviously a horrible build and I wouldn't suggest it. A lot of people are still carrying mistakes in their roster and a lot of people use different builds for varying reasons. IE my 5/5/3 punisher vs the typical x/x/5. It wouldn't alleviate any need for combo. Closest thing your gonna get is to just finding those players you wanna see when they top leaderboards or just pm them to find out their alliance and look that way.
  • Also, I maxed out my punisher covers at 4/4/5, won top 5 rewards just before respec was launched and respecced him to 5/5/3 but now want to repsec him to 3/5/5 as i miss the red. If I could have seen that everyone else was 3/5/5 optimum i might have gone that way originally and saved time and covers that would have fetched me 1000 ISO each. Lots of forum goers are still working on builds but i appreciate you may only want people to be able to see yours if they find you in an event or their mmr

    I guess I used a PERFECT example. icon_e_smile.gif
  • Well, for anyone who wanted to, they can include their alliance in their sig line. I've searched a number of times for the S.H.I.E.L.D. alliance just so I can gauge my builds against the masters. And also to drool.

Perhaps you should start a thread in the Alliances forum to promote this idea. Pretty good solution with no Dev action necessary.

I think you did but I was typing while you posted it so didnt see it at first!!
I completely get your point about bad builds aswell and I guess the characters forum holds lots of detail on maxed powers
  • Can already somewhat do this in effect by just checking your bracket's leader (or heck, the top 10 of the Hulk event) and looking through their rosters. After looking through 6-7 high-end rosters, you'll see the general consensus on what builds they use for a given character.

Easy way: search for the S.H.I.E.L.D. alliance, some big forum names there (forgot which exactly lol), done.
