Surfer up or not?

Hello,

I'm currently championing 3* characters, have no usuable 4*. I did received my 3rd Silver Surfer cover and I can level it up till 300 (currently it's 285). Wil it mess up the scaling?

    How many champed 3* do you have? In PvE, a champed 3 star, if boosted gets up to 240 or so. You'd be going 60 levels higher than that, so there would be an effect, but if you have enough 3* champed you might be able to get through it.

    Why do you want to level character with only 3 covers? It still would be useless. Use the ISO for championing more 3* or for your 4* to make them useable, don't bother with 5* until you have decent amount of covers.

    Well my goal is to always level the highest tier first, i'm not a hardcore player so i'm getting limited amount of legendary tokens and right now with my current ISO flow I can level them all max (excluding the 3*). So right now none of my 4* need any iso as they are maxed already with the limited covers. This way i want to make sure I don't need 3 millions ISO total to max all the 4 and 5 stars when i'm done championing all my 3 starts first.

    Well on your place I would just hoard ISO and spend it when there will be a reason (champion another 3* or I will get new 4* cover).

    how many covers is the general consensus before levelling 5*s?

    I'm mainly ignoring them for now, but I have

    Is it just a case of waiting for OML yellow and using him?

    I recommend not spending any Iso on 5*s until you have a viable 4* team. I've read enough complaints on here to know that scaling matters. With champed 3*s your scaling on a lv 255 5* isn't going to be significantly different, but once you start pumping levels into them your scaling will increase. Keep collecting the covers, but don't spend any Iso on them until you intend to actually use them (ie, 7-9 covers). Champing more 3* and building your 4* won't affect your scaling and allow you to build faster.

    Surfer isn't worth leveling until you have something like 10 covers. The number varies for the others, depending on the colors of your covers. OML is useful at 1/1/1. The individual threads in the Character Discussion forum contain guidelines for which covers are needed before leveling 5*s.

    I leveled my 0/2/2 surfer to 315 I think and it was a mistake. Didn't do anything to my scaling at the time, but it was just a waste of ISO. I never use him.
