The flow of ISO-8 in MPQ

I don't understand everyone who is extolling the bonus as some great boon to ISO collection. With slower match times, you only can get 10-14 matches an hour ... Which only equals out to an additional 400 ISO an hour. Assuming you never skip, but when you get to the upper tiers of the PVP ladder or MMR hell, you will be skipping a lot.

From a certain standpoint you're right - but for those of us who play a little more casually, the increased influx of 1000 ISO awards and the more steady stream of 500/250 awards means I'm getting a lot more ISO than I had been. I'm playing the same number of matches as I've always been; because I never relied that heavily on any of the stuff that got nerfed, my matches aren't really any slower.

More importantly, and probably more relevantly to your point - I'm probably playing less PVP than I had been because I'd rather spend the time on PVE, and mmr hell just isn't a factor in the PVE events. I haven't seen the worst of the scaling either in the PVE events, though I"ve gotten boxed out of a few. And when I have been playing PVP, I've been able to leverage the LRs to tank my mmr much more effectively than I used to, so I haven't seen terrible matches anyway for the most part.
  • Not really for me; I still skip like a mofo.

Yeah it's gonna vary from person to person but I've used >300 ISO in skips since the feature was added. Typically it's +20-30 every match.

I'm not sure that I am getting a ton more ISO than before. I think that as I have gained covers and leveled up I have become less reliant upon bonuses. I was using 2 different +3 boosts every match. So the 140ISO that I may have earned just covered the cost of the boost I was using. Its not really until they changed the boosts that I stopped using them and now I can see that I am piling up on the ISO. Previously too, I was never really able to climb the ladders in the PVE rankings and so I missed on any rewards there. Im nervous about leveling up further now though because of the potential scaling I might take. I think I'm going to start to get my Bagman up to about 70 in the rare event that something happens for him.

Not using boosts definitely helped a ton for my increase. I still don't get why any1 wouldn't wanna level their characters. No idea who started that silly trend but not something I would ever do.

It's a response to the scaling. If you're in a manageable spot scaling-wise, leveling up could potentially put you into an unmanageable spot. For me personally, I'm reluctant to start the switch to 3*s until I have a team I'm comfortable with. Right now, my only 3* team I could make above 92nd level is Patch/Punisher/Doom - which isn't terrible - but Patch and Punisher have too much overlap, and I'd prefer to wait to make the switch until I have someone a little different I can get up there as well.

    That's a case of punisher green / doom blue/black / patch red

Once again in feeling like ragnarok beats out patch in this team. Love my 5/5/3 punisher icon_e_smile.gif

Its not that I am not leveling my characters, its more that I am trying to bring every up to a common level. I havent played with most other characters because at low levels they are too weak. And then when there are required character matches its almost like a lost player when I just a level 20 guy against 70+ enemies. I don't want too high that I face the 230s like a lot of folks here. I have been lucky that its only happened to me a few times. I kind of spread the ISO out. So now that I regularly have a few thousand after playing I will spend like half to raise one of the higher folks 1 level and spread out the rest to the other characters. I wish there was a button to autodistribute it.

You would become the guy with a lvl 40 Bag-Man. The neighbors would gossip.

I pull in a bunch of ISO now that I no longer boost. I used to think of boosts in events as a way to purchase guaranteed covers with ISO instead of HP. I won plenty, but my levels stagnated. Now that Respec is here, I have the chance to fix bad builds (OBW pre-Espionage) and actually level them usefully.
