**** scaling on PvE events
D3 this is, i feel, a major issue. I was participating in the hulk event the one going on now and i got to approximately rank 800 . I logged on today again, as because i am a human i require sleep, and found i was rank 3,500. Thats fair, cos its global and time zones wotnot. What isnt fair is now all my fights were DOUBLE IN LEVEL!!!! It was forcing me to fight lvl 150+ enemies when my cards are barely lvl 60 - 70. And last night, the enemies were that lvl. Now i cannot increase my rank and those people that pay for power now fly to the top. The guy in first place now has lvl 130+ cards and a 26 card roster... last night 1st place had lvl 60 cards... but it seems the low lvls cannot do anything now. Have you really gone down the mobage road of no return? Like they did with bloodbrothers? Where only the rich....win?

This is a little silly, you know. There are a lot of people with high level rosters who didn't "buy their way to the top." It's totally reasonable to think that players with low- to mid-tier rosters shouldn't be able to compete with players with high-tier rosters. It's almost the very definition of fairness.0

Bet you didn't read posts by players like myself who has a mid-tier roster losing top spots to new players with level 20-50 rosters in many PVE sub events. I'm facing level 230 enemies while those newbies most likely face lower level enemies. How else did they get top spots?0

I don't know about the others, but I'm a free player and a newbie with a roster of characters under Lvl 55. However, I usually manage to get to within 100, sometimes even top 50 or 20 mainly by fighting the heck out of it and I think in part rubber banding. I don't know about scaling though since even though my roster doesn't hold a single character over 55 (my highest is Storm at 55), I'm still equally pitted against level 180's and 200's. Hulk was Lvl 230 for me in the last sub category.0 -
I am seriously considering giving up the game at this point. I can only play like 2 matches at a time now before waiting for more health packs and I've lost more matches in the last week than in a long time. It's not fun just watching hulk destroy me over and over. I have a decent roster (usually use level 85 mwolvie, level 85 ostorm, level 53 mnmags) and just get killed. I'm finding it hard to even keep myself in the top 800 to get a 2 star cover that may actually be worth something to me. This sucks. Please fix it.0

The scaling is definitely ****, levels go up and down by 100 in few hours, makes no sense at all. One's results really just depend on what time point he happens to log in at, same node may be at 180 or 40 or 90.0

I had the same experiences in the last few PvE events, and this time around I've been just completely steamrolling - it's very rare for me to lose.
I was trying to put my finger on why, and I think I have it somewhat figured out. I think I've hit the "butter zone" for the game. I have a set of 2 and 3-* heroes that are all around 60's and 70's or so. Additionally, I have a roster large enough to hold a pretty good chunk of 1- or 2- cover 3* heroes. That means I'm generally well equipped for whatever event is on the horizon.
The real profitable part of this game is clearly the 3-* characters. You can watch the arc of the events - a new 3-* character is introduced, you have a chance to win a few covers, and then there's an event where they're super-powered (ie, the current one is Black Panther). You're heavily incented to pay money to either buff this new 3-* character, or to roll on the cover packs for chances to get more of them.
Then in the next event that character is kinda/sorta buffed, and then they're forgotten about for a while. (Psylocke is in this category at the moment) However, they'll be back, cycled through, at some point in the future, so that you're incented to hold them.
Thus, the game is biased towards players who have a large roster, a few strong heroes, and are willing to drop everything for the "flavor of the month" - playing it any other way, or trying to get ahead before you can get to this point is tricky and/or frustrating.
I got where I am without paying, so it's certainly possible to get there over time. It's just a real pain in the **** - especially the transition from 1* to 2*, and again when you start to get a few 3* covers but don't really have enough to make a viable character out of any of them. If you can power through, eventually things start to roll downhill.0
