Returning after 6+ month hiatus, could use a little advice

So I got burnt out on the grind and took a much needed break. However I've obviously missed a lot of changes and new characters.

I'm not looking to play the hardcore grind, and I don't want to sink actual cash into extra roster slots; so I'm thinking of clearing out some of my 3* covers and maybe a couple of 4* ones too for the slots and a quick ISO injection to bolster the remaining characters that are fully/near fully covered but not max level.

In your opinion, in 3 and 4 star land, which characters aren't worth holding onto (Keep in mind I'm only intending to play super casually so missing out on essential nodes won't be an issue for me)

Thanks for the advice in advance ;o)

IMO, hold onto as many 4*s as you can because their PvE essential nodes have CP commandpoints.png in them.

If you can score 725 in PVP and top 50 each sub in PVE at a casual pace with DPDQ you will be swimming in HP soon enough. With the new champion feature champion all your 2* at max level they give a ton of HP and champion your 3* as well. Hoard your Legendary tokens till you have stockpiled a 2-3K HP and only pull LT when you feel comfortable with a new roster slot. I have had around 9k hp for over 6 months and I usually spend 225-450 in each PVP on shields to hop to 1300. There is a lot of HP in the game right now with championing and DPDQ vault so no need to sell your 3* because they are needed for DPDQ.

Yeah, I wouldn't sell them either.

Wait a little. See how iso and hp accumulation goes, then decide.

Championing has definitely been good for hp for me. I even buy 100 hp pt tokens in the vaults some now too.

I never would have considered that before.
