Is it the event, the format, or the scaling?

For Prodigal Sun, I decided to grind it out for the 25 CP, and honestly, it wasn't that bad. I hit the essentials and higher end nodes for 6-7/7 of the rewards (depending on if I still needed the CP or not) and largely ignored the other nodes except for the first clear. I hit the 25 CP the morning of the last sub and I was pretty happy 'bout it. Finished top 300, don't really care, I don't play PVE for placement. Now, we switch up to Deadpool vs. MPQ and after the first clear, I barely walked away with any limbs in tact. It was brutal. No way am I grinding that tinykitty out.

So, I'm curious, is this due to
1. The different challenge of the event?
2. The difference in "old" vs. "new" PVE format?
3. Or did leveling my 4* Thor to 270 affect my scaling that much (she was 230ish at beginning of Prodigal Sun) (Also worth noting, I've had all 5 5*'s rostered and unlevelled for about 3 weeks now)?

Also, it'd be nice to know when they are going to settle on a PVE format...the constant format switching kind of sucks...

    The fights can in the Deadpool event can be pretty nasty if you don't use the right characters. If have a working winfinite then alot of those nodes are pretty easy. Also if you have IM40 he works great with Thoress. Those two combos alone allow you to beat nodes fast and with minimal damage.

    This PVE has some rough fights, especially the first sub.

    Gotta be the event + **** boosted characters.

    First fight is Mr F***-Nuts/Falc/Storm. First time Storm went down really fast so I just restarted since it was all loaners. 2nd time took me 20+ minutes to win as again Storm went early and Falc can't do anything useful so you are stuck trying to do 1 match damage and praying for Black tiles to thanks to Cage's protect tile. I did entire clears in less time in the last event.

    Now I just splatted twice on the Jean Grey/Storm/Pyslocke trivial node (L78) with my L120+ characters!!! I killed Storm first time and 2nd time I killed no one because both times the board was loaded with Purple and Jean got it off both times for 2K team damage and I got a bad luck match-5 cascade happen to me both times. I decided I needed my own cooling off period before I smash my phone Hulk style. There is no way that's a trivial node with Jean doing 2K team damage at L78.

    Yeah, it does. It also doesn't help that you're fighting against popular heroes so you can't use them yourself. LCap is boosted but you can't use him in that fight against Falcon/Cap/Gamora. Fury and Grey Suit are boosted but you can't use them in the last fight. You can't even use winfinite since it has PX/BWGS in it. Teen Jean is the only top tier 4* that's boosted. So it's pretty difficult for people with regular 3*/4* rosters.

    And that loaner node is awful with 2 do-nothings like Falcon and Mr Failtastic. If super-squishy Storm gets killed, the node takes forever.
