Scaling a 5 star character

I am currently in the three star building level but I have two, five star characters. Should I level them up? If I level one of them up will it increase my scaling? The five stars I do have do not have any special attack capabilities, matter of fact my Old Man Logan is almost useless since he just has one red cover and pretty much kills himself. I just use him and Jean as meat shields.

Don't level them until you have a few maxed 4* characters.

And whatever you do, don't sell them. Those covers are so hard to come by, you'd be kicking yourself once you're at the stage where you actually need to draw them.
