Cruel Revival bug?

I have cast CR on boosted War Oracle (by one of Gideon's abilities) and it did nothing.

Although I haven't noticed, the AI might provided some kind of damage protection on the Oracle. But even if this is the case, I would still expect to have the Oracle removed through any DR (be it spell or ability) in the end..

If the protecting was there and kicked in, it has not been visible on the Oracle (so it is not possible to know of it in advance unless you noticed in animations) AND it makes some black spells further less usable (especially Cruel Revival).

Btw, both PW were on level 60.

    Enshrouding mist prevents the target from getting damage
    In this game(strangely) it provides immunity to death too so this is almost surely what happened in your case.
