PVE Progression Only structure

Had a thought about a Progression structure that might eliminates PVE and gives people who want to grind clear goals....

Assumptions are:
1) New Scaling is in place to increase difficulty per clear
2) No Timer. Number of clears within a Sub is all that matters, not when they are done

Event Progression.
- Target the Top Progression reward at 3 clears per SUB node. So that gives a reasonable time investment for the top progression
- Make the top award a number of CP based on earning 50 a week, so 25 for 3/4 day events and 50 for a 7 day event

Sub Progression
- Set a sub-progression based on the points from certain numbers of clears. and whether Essentials are included or not... maybe even include a tier for just the 3 "easy" nodes.
1 clears Exc Essentials - Standard Token
1 Clear Inc Essentials - Health Pack (1)
2 Clears Exc Essentials - HP (25)
2 Clears Inc Essentials - ISO (500)
3 Clears Exc Essentials - ISO (500)
3 Clears Inc Essentials - Event Token
4 clears Exc Essentials - 3* cover of Reward Character
4 Clears Inc Essentials - HP (25)
5 Clears Exc Essentials - ISO (500)
5 Clears Inc Essentials - ISO (1000)
6 Clears Exc Essentials - ISO (1000)
6 Clears Inc Essentials - Event Token
7 Clears Exc Essentials - 5CP
7 Clears Inc Essentials - 4* Cover of Reward Character

Exact progression points and rewards would need to be reviewed and correctly defined...

For 7 day events the serious grinders can earn a fair number of 4* covers, but is that really an issue? If they want to devote 7 clears a day to PVE then so be it.

So anyone investing a "standard" amount of time in the event (3 clears of each Sub Node inc Essentials) would get a Standard Token, Event Token, 1000ISO, 1 Health Pack and 25 HP per day.... in addition to the existing random node rewards. Other than maybe missing a 3* cover or two that they might have got through placement they get more other resource ... But with just a little bit more time they can get a 3* cover a Sub...

On the other end of the scale a guy who hits all nodes 7 times (including the increasing difficulty and considering it is potentially 4 hours a day of work) in one day gets a decent chunk, 1 4* cover (not random), 1 3* Cover (Not Random), 2 Event Tokens an extra 5CP, 2000 ISO , 50HP, a Standard Token and a Health Pack

From a 3 day event, a person who fully grinds will both hit progression easily and pick up prizes not too dissimilar to what to what the top placement prize is now...

In a 7 day event they make a killing but then it is a 7 day event and it is often the same people getting top 10 in PVEs so they are not actually getting that much more than they would do from 2 separate PVE events... maybe more ISO and a couple more covers...

You also avoid the immense frustration of investing loads of time, only to find you just get top 100 cos there are players who ground out more... this way, if you do the time you get the rewards.

It means sniping brackets is not worth doing, in fact brackets become irrelevant.

This would make people grind for characters they want and could theoretically drive health pack sales if they want the specific characters.... assuming new PVE scaling.

But newer players still have rewards they can aim for... and get decent bump in stuff while they do it.

48HR subs are an issue, although they arguably become a nice gentle day that gives all players a chance to hit full potential progression on a standard clearance strategy.

Survival Nodes should give out the EOTS style prizes on the first clear, and then maybe a simple chunk of ISO on later clears, or assume only one clear for Progression Calculations.

One-Off nodes should not be factored in to the Progression Calculations.

New Character releases that are 7 day events might need to have the rewards for 7 node grinds rethought (maybe combination of 3 new character covers and some extra CP or Essential 4* covers...

But in general, what people actually achieve is up to them.

Just a thought...

and I know it would be considered too generous for D3, but you know what, you spend 4 hours a day playing this game, you should get a ton of stuff... given that it is essentially free to D3 to give out...
