I was bored and thought I would show what damage red characters can do for their AP.
I will group them in solid number and theoretical because there damage has other criteria.

X-Force Wolverine -- 154.2 Dmg per AP
DareDevil --1101.7 Dmg per AP
IronMan 40 --273.76 Dmg per AP
Hulk -- 178 Dmg per AP
Punisher -- 185.25 Dmg per AP (more if 40% rule)
Ares -- 151.30 Dmg per AP (if below health)
Captain American -- 55.8 Dmg per AP
Hawkeye Modern -- 164.5 Dmg Per AP per character
Wolverine (Astonish) -- 240.33 per AP

Top 3 Daredevil, IM40, Wolverine

The if Champs
BWGS -- (lvl 5 red, assuming you hit all Purple tiles)--106.4 Dmg per AP and can cascade
Magneto -- 66.5 Dmg per AP but can trigger cascade
Psylocke -- 120.62 Dmg per AP at 8, 137 at 7, 160.8 at 6, 193 at 5, plus Strike tile damage
Ragnarok -- 105.5 Dmg per AP but can trigger cascade
Patch -- Assuming 18 tiles 277.7 Dmg per AP
Magneto MN -- 242 Dmg per AP can trigger cascade
Moonstone -- 392 + (200 x Red Tiles) range 35.6 0 tiles to 253.8 12 tiles or more
Thor -- 126 Dmg per AP can trigger cascade

Top 4 Patch, Magneto MN, Psylocke, Moonstone

Obviously Daredevil is conditional on someone matching but he does have the best ratio by far. IM40 surprised me at red, but if you factored in the drain of the other colors it drops to 153 Dmg per AP which still has him in the top half but not as effecient.

  • A few thoughts:

    - Hulk's 178 is based on 10 or fewer green, but it only counts the cost of the red. I guess that's fine since you don't count the cost of IM40's other colors, but I think you should at least note that at 30 green it does 603 damage/red AP, or 352 damage/all AP.
    - BWGS should assume 30 damage/tile, as that's a much more realistic assumption. So that would be 67.5 damage/AP.
    - MMN's 242 is 1936/8, but 8 is the cost at level 1. I'd imagine most people would have MMN red at level 5, so that's 138 damage/ap just for the damage, plus an average of 18.06 tiles smashed for an additional 480 damage, so 172 damage/ap.
  • Create an alternate list with some amount of strike tiles present, say 300 -- will change the thing in drastic ways. icon_e_smile.gif

    Agreed, but then again it changes every skill, that's why I did just straight AP to base damage with a few estimates, like Patch's TBTI

    Magneto MN's red also pulls in 25 AP while it's exploding, if it's not on an edge.

    His red is surprisingly good. A lot of that is being a 1 turn tile. My go to tank team is base required, lvl 30 3/5/5
    Mn magneto, and lvl 1 venom (only 4 in purple on purpose). Venom 4 ap purple + magneto red will guarantee about 800+ damage and a bunch of ap back. It loses steam at higher levels but for low level skirmishes its pretty nice.

    Just going by damage per ap isn't always telling, but it DOES show 1 thing...xforce is woefully underpowered. It should be hitting 300 per an ap minimum if it keeps its current board clear ability. I mean, his 2** does 240 per at a lower cost to initiate (which is an advantage generally) and his 4*** can hulk wipe in the right circumstance. 5k minimum on his red imo. Xforce getting 15 red should basically kill most characters imo...it should be as simple as that.

    IM40 red is good, it is nos exellent, but if you now when to trigger it could be devastating. If you use it as a finisher or when you have used other powers and depleted your reserves it is really good. Of course, if you have to wait too much maybe your characters will be dead by then, so this could be a big problem. I have said before that red should drain 1 from your pools on level 5, and blue do more damge. Then IM40 would be a really good character.

    AWolvie red is one of the bests.

    But right now is obvious that the best reds are Punisher's and Patch's. When Patch is the last man standing his red is INCREDIBLE, and 40% could be a lot.

    I am corious with Thor 3* red, I hope it will go at least to Punisher realm in damage, and be a decent/cheap red power.

    but. Punisher's red doesn't do a lot if they are above 40%, it's cost efficient but not an all powerful damage dealer, but yeah, going against 16K health Hulk's and being able to down them at 6400 is nice compare that to only 4800 if you only have red at lvl 4, thats a 1600 diff which is huge in those matches since hulk just needs to get angry once.
