Double strike + trample

You'd have thought that if Iroas's Champion has trample from Call of the Full Moon and kills a defender with her first strike, she ought to be able to deal full normal strike damage to the opponent, right? Nope, doesn't happen. She does trample over whatever's left of the first half of her double strike damage, but the second half is lost.

You might want to post about this over in the Bugs/Technical discussion forum:

I thought that this might not count as a "bug" in that sense; it's just an area where the game rules differ from the real MtG. But this interaction is so nonsensical that I think it has to be treated as a bug, yes, so I'll post over there.

For anyone curious, this is what would happen in real/paper MtG.

    Creature A (Attacking)
    P/T: 5/5
    Abilities: Double Strike, Trample

    Creature B (Blocking)
    P/T: 4/4
    Abilities: Defender

    Combat Phase Order of Events
    1. Enter Combat Phase
    2. Creature A is blocked by Creature B
    3. Enter First Strike Combat Phase
    4. Creature A deals lethal damage to Creature B (4), and deals its remaining damage via trample to the defending player (1)
    5. Creature B dies and is moved to the graveyard as a state based effect
    6. Enter Normal Combat Phase
    7. Creature A remains blocked but since it has trample, it deals 4 damage to player. If a double strike creature without trample had its blocker die during combat it would still deal 0 damage to the player during the Normal Combat Phase -- in MtGPQ if Creature B dies during First Strike Combat, Creature A, a Double Striking Trampler, (wrongly) deals no additional combat damage directly to the player during Normal Combat.

TL;DR: This is indeed a bug
