the incredible changing tiles

Has anyone else noticed that one or two tiles/gems on the board will randomly change colours at the end of a turn, even though there is nothing in play that would change them?

I always find this happens in a way that either keeps me from making a good match (I usually have to match planeswalker tiles), or it creates an absurd cascade for the AI.

Seriously... Pay very close attention to the board at the end of every turn, or at the end of a cascade. You'll catch it happening if you're paying attention.

What's up with this? It's blatant cheating.

How often do you feel this is happening? Could you record your games to show it happening?

    No I haven't.

Keep in mind that green can change random tiles with her 1st power. Some supports do this as well.

Speaking of which, is it possible for something like a Nissa's Pilgrimage to create a board state where no matches are possible? I know that the auto-suggested tiles don't change, such that sometimes it suggests a switch that doesn't actually create a match because Pilgrimage has changed one of them to green. But I don't think I've ever seen Pilgrimage create an unmatchable board.

Yep. And when it does it lets you know that no matches are possible and rearranges the board.

I have noticed it too but I think it is a graphical glitch.

What I have noticed is that two adjacent gems which will get moved by the clearing of the gems in the cascade will suddenly swap colour and then only swap colour back at the end of the cascade if they're still around.

I can't confirm it though since I can't replicate it.
  • Cascades sometimes cause it, as well as support destruction.
