I find it a bit odd that all 'godlike' characters are buffed with the exception of 5
Because isn't the Phoenix a godlike force of nature? Or is it because 5 s are never buffed?

I have never understood what makes a character a "Divine Champion". Can anybody shed some light on this?

Ares, Loki and Thor Odinson are Gods Marvel lore wise. Storm is often referred to as a Goddess, even though she is technically a mortal mutant. Female Thor is empowered to Thor Odinson's level of power by Mjolnir's enchantment. I don't know why ghost rider is there since his powers are demonic in origin.

Storm was worshiped as a goddess in Africa, before the X-Men picked her up. Even still, she was always the iffiest of the Divine Champions. Until Ghost Rider. I believe that there have been some developments that reveal God to be the true source of his power, but. . . I think he's really there because it's weird to only have one 4* boosted in an event.

And this is not the first time I will have pointed this out in a Divine Champions thread, but Ares is the only Dark Avenger whose "good" counterpart (Hercules) isn't in the game.

She's already boosted in Women of Marvel and presumably Children of the Atom (if that ever runs again), that's probably enough.
Wouldn't have objected to a boosted Silver Surfer here though....

Let's face it, Storm in all 3 varieties is there for filler. She's nothing to do with godly beings in the Marvel continuity. "But she was worshiped in Africa as a goddess." So what, there's crashed planes on remote Pacific islands getting the same treatment. Phoenix isn't on there because she's a cosmic force (like Galactus and surfer). Thor, Loki, Ares are the only legit gods. Those with godly support would be Ghost Rider and perhaps Hood (depending on how you see Dormamuu)

Woohoo I am enjoying the new system. Unless something drastic changes between 800-1000 points, I should get to 1000 points for the first time since my slice doesn't end for another 14 hours. At work now so currently shielded for 3 hours until my lunch break.

Just to chime in at how much I enjoy the new matchmaking.

Used a buffed, fully covered but underlevelled Ghost Rider, 4*Thor and fully championed Loki from 0-1000. Started early and shielded when I slept and a 3+8 shield for the 800-1000 point climb.

Got hit 5 times in the 0-400 point range, mostly from 5* teams, and I assume this is common for those people to climb on. On my part however, comfortably climbed from 600-1000 and faced very similar compositions to mine, with the occasional championed 4*Thor which I skipped in favour of underlevelled teams and championed but not buffed teams. Absolutely no stress whatsover, and my climb to 1000 was unthreatened throughout.

I think with this experience I'd be comfortable to start to aim for the 1300 point reward, even with my underleveled teams.
