Best time to join PvP?

Wondering when is the best time to join a pvp event for progression rewards? I typically join during the last hour to make a top 100, but sometimes I join a fresh one, and am able to get into top 25 or higher. I have not been able to identify when to join, or which ones to join.

It all depends on when the previous bracket has filled. In each time slice once 1000 people are in the event a new one opens up.

If you want progression rewards only (i.e tokens for hitting 300, 650 and 900 points, covers for hitting 800 and 1000 points and so on), you should join as soon as possible to have more time to climb.
If you want placement rewards (for first place, top 5, etc) joining late can work if you can play consecutively and climb faster and higher than everyone else.

I'd note that PvP brackets fill at 500 people while PvE brackets fill at 1000 people.

The further in you get in a PVP the easier it will be to climb, but other than losing points to being attacked there is no inherent disadvantage to getting in earlier if all you are going for is progression. As others said, if you are going for placement you want as fresh a bracket as possible, so you want to join as late as possible.

I am almost always going for progression, so I join relatively early (usually in the second day of the event,) climb to my "float" point (the highest point where I won't get hit a lot,) wait until I'm ready for my final climb, then climb to shield. From there I'll shield hop until I get to wherever I want.

I'm a 4* player, so my float point is around 500-600 (I can probably push it some, but rarely get the chance for real life reasons,) and my shield point is around 1000 (1100 if I push it.) I can then usually hop to 1300, though I generally need at least three or four hops, so I need to that at least 12 hours before the event closes.

Not sure how you get so high, but I typically am not able to exceed 600 points in progression due to how often I get attacked. I can get to 500 in an evening, then wake up and im back down 200 points from all the attacks. Last time I tried this I only had a 2* roster with a single Silver Surfer. Im better off now with 3 mediocre 3* championed, but I am not optimistic.
