AI behavior?

Does anyone know how the AI behavior works? Like is it random or fairly predictable?

I was wondering while doing this latest Venom Bomb event since those feeder goons + Carnage/Venom nodes were so annoying and I was trying to play around the Scythes and Symbiotic Fury attacks.

The only things I can tell for sure are:
* The AI cannot resist a match-4. This is great if you're using Loki or even if you want to lure it away from matching colors it can use.
* The AI will only do a match-5 if it is unavoidable; i.e. if all of the colors are in a straight line. It will not try to do an L or T-shaped match because it really REALLY likes those match-4s.

I thought that the AI would fire off any abilities that it had enough AP for, and most of the time it does. But it sometimes waits and sometimes it gathers enough for a higher cost ability. Does anyone know what the determining factors for those decisions are? I couldn't find that info in here already (although if it is written down somewhere, point me to it! icon_e_biggrin.gif )

Thanks in advance!

I read elsewhere on the Forum that the AI doesn't actually make Match 5's. It doesn't see them. It only sees the Match 4's, and the 5th linear tile is just an accidental bonus. This would be why it never tries for the L or T shaped Match 5's. It's simply not looking. As for priorities, I am given to understand that if there are multiple Match 4's, it will make them in order of "strongest" to "weakest" colour.

When it comes to making decisions about which powers to fire off, I have never seen anything definitive in terms of percentage chances, but I have read that if it has enough AP for a power, and there are no other powers of that colour on the team, it will always fire that power. If there are other (more expensive) powers on the team, there is a chance it will hold off to attempt to earn more AP to finish the more expensive power, but the chances lean heavily towards firing the one it can afford now.

I believe these answers (and many more!) can be found elsewhere on the Tips and Guides. I just can't remember the specific threads I read them in.

AI does see match 5s, but only the straight ones. The T and L shapes are only from cascades, AI will normally just make a match 4 from it if there was one.

    A few more quirks I noticed :
      - the AI will match away your special tiles, especially countdown tiles, unless it is on a colour they do not use. Very useful for 4*Deadpool, horrible for Loki. - in a hero + goon node, goon colours will also be considered a priority match.

Also as mentioned above, if two AI heroes share an active colour, it's a toss-up on which ability will be fired. There is a colour order for abilities casting but I couldn't find the thread...

    Yellow - Red - Blue - Purple - Green - Black
It's the same order the colors are listed on the screen that shows the match damage.

Smomething I noticed in the recent DA Heroic. Juggs had enough red for his Headbutt, so I decided it would be good to let Patch take it. He didn't use it. Ok I thought, he's saving it for Sentry/Ares/Moonstone, so I made a purple match with OBW and then he used his headbutt and killed her one shot. Could be random but I found it interesting...

its completely random. sometimes we think we can predict random and sometimes we realize we can't. ideally I would have tried to keep patch in front until the red was used, but sometimes that isn't possible. at 6 red, a team of jugs/moon will flip a coin as to which one will get the ap. this coin flip will happen every turn (if coin lands on moon, it just saves it, if it lands on jugs, headbutt time), so more than likely you're going to get a headbutt, but you just don't know which turn the coin will land on jugs.

I think IceIX (or maybe another red name) mentioned once that the AI is more likely to fire cheaper powers when a weaker character is up front. In other words, when OBW is on the front line the chance of a Headbutt increases.
