Alliance and other wishful changes

I was one of the fools who JUMPED at the alliance opportunity. The "future features" they discuss are still pointless in my opinion. I know these forum posts have ZERO influence on the devs, however I want to get peoples opinions on what I fell they should implement.

1. Alliances should be able to swap or sell cards to other members.
2. Alliances should be able to search and request members.
3. PVE events should be PROGRESSION ONLY. This would tone down the public outrage on the insane levels and difficulty of these events, while still giving everyone a fair chance to get the rewards. Similar to the prologue.
4. Enemy levels should NOT exceed the possible levels players can reach. Level 230 Juggernaut? NOPE! It almost makes it so you HAVE to use a stun person because his powers can kill full heath maxed level 1,2, and some 3 star characters,
5. Event specific tokens should point out which possible characters to get. Whats the point in spending 400 HP on a token that nets you less chance than a standard Heroic token?

Just a rant, I know. But I hope to see others with similar opinions on these matters, so that I know i'm not the only one losing the fun factor of this game.

    As much as I agree...
    1. But less money? No way.
    2. Whatever.
    3. Nice and easy? No way, people wouldn't invest in event specific tokens and packs then.
    4. No way, people know that having lvl 141s helps, they need to have the incentive to better their rosters, and lvl 230 Juggernaut is the perfect guy for the job.
    5. No waaaaay, less money spent on tokens.
I feel bad writing this since my main account is a freeloader, but hey, it's true.
  • Oh no, I totally agree with you. Thats why I was asking for YOUR opinion lol I know the devs could care less to make this game enjoyable again. They keep getting money!

    1. Yep, I'd love this, and would be a very natural Alliance function. However, it WOULD reduce pack sales (even though I believe that most of my alliance spends zero money on the game).

    2. This one would be nice, though tricky re: spam. Also, while convenient, it wouldn't be necessary for non-spam purposes: if you're requesting a specific person to join based on rationale more solid than "I saw you randomly, and you have a sweet roster", chances are you can communicate with them some other way.

    3. I'm not sure what "progression only" means.

    4. Eh, while I haven't seen any lvl230 enemies since I'm in 1*->2* territory, it makes sense to always have very difficult enemies at some point in an event. Could the scaling be generally made easier? Sure. But, I think it's valid to make lvl141 players face lvl230 enemies at some point, just as level 130+ goons can one-shot my entire team with a bad board or an untouchable corner countdown tile.

    5. You mean the event tokens that give you one of the powered-up chars? Each event has a complete powered-up char list in its initial pop-up and Rules page, no?

As for "fun factor," the back-to-back PvE events have made me a bit bored of the game for the moment. That was a bit too long of a slog. OTOH, my core team has jumped quite a few levels from PvE Iso.

You should abandon all hope on this one. It's just not how F2P games work.

Maybe a year from now when there are 50+ characters and interest in the game is waning.

This is a terrible idea anyway. The most powerful people would compete in tourneys they have zero interest in so they can twink alliance-mates or alt accounts. Lightning Rounds would be even more unplayable for peeps who just transitioned into the 3* realm.

Although, given that I support the OP's #3 and think that PVE should truly be just that, perhaps they can find a way to make this work. I just lack the faith to believe it'll happen in a fair fashion.

Edit: To the OP's point, I would also add "secondary quests / collectibles" to the list. The original PQ had followers as part of the story, runes to collect, mounts to train, spells to research, items to craft, and a castle to expand. And it had differing game types to support those different things like crafting, training and research. I made a post in the suggestions forum a while back about having "lairs / headquarters" or something that would let us do some of those things. Expand your headquarters, collect vehicles, etc.
  • You should be able to share Iso rewards (fb rewards) with your alliance members
  • What's worse about an alliance guy giving unneeded covers to his allies than someone being able to just outspend everyone else? Both result in 'twinks'. As far as lightning rounds becoming more competitive, I don't know how that would even be possible. As it stands you need a fantastic team that can clear very fast, you have to start immediately when they open and play for just about 90 minutes uninterrupted. What, exactly, would change about that?

I am a staunch proponent of gifting covers. I'm not completely convinced it would deter sales a great deal. You know that little 'unlocked' screen that shows when you recruit a new character? What if you can't gift someone a cover unless they already unlocked that character? Or it can't be the first dot in a power or something. I suspect that giving alliances this ability would lead to greater customer loyalty, more play, and (possibly) off-setting spend by players. If people feel a bond to allies and want to help their mates in events and what-not, that is as good as loyalty to Demiurge.
  • Ahhhhh i see i see. Valid points to the spamming of requests, and gifting cards. I do disagree with the irralavent just to gift idea though. I actually seen someone okay a magneto lightning round, with a max classic, and get top spot. So that person played JUST to be a ****. So the incentive is irrelevant to some anyway. I do really like the rules of trading that was just suggested though. Great ideas.

By progression, i mean point milestones. That are guaranteed as long as you continue to play.

When it comes to the giant 230 guys, i do NOT have anyone higher than 80, and i get 230s across most boards. I just feel it should be like most videogames, as you progress, it should get more difficult. I shouldn't open a new event to see 230 magneto, 230 loki, and 230 ragnarok. Unacceptable lol.

Oh, I see, so no bracketing. That's an interesting idea. Bracketing makes point-scaling issues easier, though, since the point threshold for earning higher rewards is based on relative performance, not set in stone without a chance of invisible balancing mid-event.

Ouch. My highest was L61 at the beginning of Brotherhood (now, one L77 and two L61's), and I haven't seen anyone above 170ish in any PvE. Your MMR must be crazy-high. I have no usable 3*'s and tank every LR I see, though, so that may account for our large scaling disparity.

    1. Nope. Because then you get an out of game card economy with botting, account hacking and so on.
    2. No, don't want to be spammed. Alliances being opt-in is fantastic.
    3. PROGRESSION ONLY would be worse. How do you envision that working? You need to clear every stack of every event on every refresh to get the top awards? That is beter than now how? You already get even clearing rewards and progression rewards already, so your real argument here is to remove placing rewards from the game? Because getting less rewards is fun?
    4. Yeah that's the point of PvE is to be a different challenge to PvP. PvP is where everyone is limited to playing on a level playing field. PvE is all about facing the challenges you don't face in PvP whether it be insane levelled characters that you need stuns for, or minions that you need board control for, or combinations thereof. Even facing minions with daredevil because you now basically have two active characters instead of 3.
    5. Yes, knowing the odds on any purchase would be good.

Are you sure they didn't iso-farm that round and just stopped playing once on top and well before the end of the LR?
Some people want duplicate builds of 3***. Well... Their right I guess. I wish they'd allow weaker players collect their covers sometimes, but you can't make them. Has to be good will.

I agree on all accounts. Until transparency on drop rates in games like this are finally court mandated like the odds on lottery tickets (it WILL happen at some point I believe) the companies will always consider these drop rate numbers to be company secrets they can change as they see fit. So don't expect that until you see it in the news probably. If you just mean a more clear showing of who is and who isn't available in a pack, I don't see why they cannot do that. No for the rest for Eddiemon's reasons.
  • As a future feature I think it would be nice to be able to look at your alliance member's roster and see their current ranking in any active events.

I don't really care about the 9 people next to me in rankings I can see except to know how many points it takes to overtake them, but being able to compare your performance to those you are allied with would provide some nice usable feedback, discussion, strategizing, and last but not least competition!
