1* - 2* time elapse question.

I play fairly heavily, been sick for 2 weeks now and have smacked this game around for a good 16 days because I love the concept of it.
Anyways, how long did it take some of you to progress 1* - 2*, I dipped in to a pvp battle with someone rocking a 85 Ares, Wolvie, and Black widow and got smacked around like a 2$ call girl. I crave that power!

Not sure what you're trying to say here -- if these are the teams you're playing with right now, you'd actually be better off using your two strong one-star characters until you put a few more levels on some of these. If they're the teams you'd like to have when they're powered up, they're not bad choices. Consider Original Black Widow, though, when you get the covers to give her healing powers.

Not sure how long it'll take to get to a team of level 85 characters -- varies based on how much you play, but you've made a strong start, I think.

If you haven't already, you should look at the Prologue mission drop thread, just to check if there are any 2* covers in PvE that you haven't picked up yet. I think you can get four Thor covers that way, and Thor is a good guy to have on your side.

Also, I wish I had realized this when my roster was about at your level. You'll sometimes find that, with a push, you're just strong enough to make it to the top 45 in PvP events. You're often better off doing a little less well. When you're transitioning from 1* to 2*, three 2* covers will usually do more for you than one 3*. The current event isn't a great example, because most people aren't excited about Modern Hawkeye. But hypothetically, you're better off (for now) winning three Thor covers than one Psylocke.

I've never spent any real-world money, and have only spent HP on roster slots. While I'm a daily player, I'm not the most active.

I second what stowaway suggested: given the right 2* covers as mid-tier rewards, 3 2* covers are much more useful to you than 1 3* cover. I'll probably aim for 1 or 2 IM40s in the current PvP just because I don't use MHawkeye, but generally aim for 2* covers for now.

P.S - I almost always skip high-level OBWs in PvP. She is no joke.

I knew this snapshot idea thing would come in handy at some point! Here are some snapshots of my roster taken at various stages of time: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3306&hilit=+snapshot. This is probably uncommon as I've been playing this game pretty obsessively for the past couple of months, but it looks like I made the 1*->2* transition from ~day 5 - ~day 25. I probably got lucky as I remember getting a ton of Thor/Wolvie covers during that time, and focusing on two-three key 2* characters is the best way to complete the transition.

I don't think you got lucky. I think the game used to "want" you to have Thor as soon as possible. He's one of the few 2* offered as rewards in the Prologue, you get one in a supply drop on Day 12, and he used to be the 2* reward in events all the time. Now Captain America is the 2* you see the most. I think someone who started three weeks ago is going to have a much harder time finishing Thor, and it's not because of luck, it's by design.

Ah, forgot to mention that i thought i got lucky as a lot of tokens that i opened during that time had thor/wolvie (although many tokens featured at that time had them featured, which is by design as you said). Kinda sucks that the current 2* of choice is cap since he is much worse as a pvp character, but at least wolvie was featured a couple of weeks ago for newbies to get.

High five, brother. We're both in the same boat - As far as we can go for now, and are waiting for convenient Top 75 rewards to make that transition into 2*. I'm further along than you are, with a maxed Daken (my 2nd best 2* being a L45 Thor), but I'm just waiting (and have been waiting for around 2 weeks) for useful covers to come in. I haven't gotten any stronger in 2 weeks, but atleast I've been collecting enough covers that I now have a few guys that are just on the verge of surpassing my 1*s.

For you, your Cap seems nearly ready but his skills don't look appealing to me and many around here can confirm he's not that great outside of boosted PvE events. Your Wolverine is probably 3 covers away from being usable (it'll be at L61 if I'm not mistaken), and Mag MN, Thor, C Storm is probably 6 covers away from being usable. I don't think anyone knows the timeframe before any of those happen. It could be as soon as Friday, it could be 3 weeks of agony as you wait for the right covers to be rewarded. It really depends on the rewards and lucky token pulls

I haven't gotten a single Thor cover in a month (and just 2 OBWs). During the same period, I got exactly 1 max-covered AWolv.

Just keep getting 2* covers, throwing away the bad 1*s or even 3* if needed. Then just sink all your iso in a few core characters to get to the intermediate leagues.

To give great hope to the other newbies! I was able to run in to the top 10 in the current pvp 2 day event with *Storm and *IM35. It does take a lot of hunting, and I will lose my placement and get jipped with a ***IM40 red cover being that I can't access the game at work, but that was intended because I view that one cover more valuable than 1 of each **Hawkeye cover. He seems fun, not powerful.
