Crash of the Titans Cycle 2: Cyclops

I tried 4 times with my 150 4/4/2 clops and failed due to horrible boards full of red and black. Bumped him up to 160 and won it on the next try with a whole whopping 76 life left. LT banked for after I finish my work on Bobby.0

As suspected no problem for my champion Cyclops. He didn't get a single move off.0
-
Champion Cyclops did this in 1 shot, but not as smooth as I'd have liked, HB with 6 red used Hulk Proof and connected 9 red hitting me with a 15 red, 9k Repulsor Punch. I countered with a max power Combined Forces then finished him off with a red only Combined a few turns later
for the trouble0 -
I had serious doubts because everyone says that u need at least 4 covers on red, mine is 3/4/4, 11 covers which is not bad but not real damage there. Decided to throw all my remaining iso on him, lvl him up to 169. +100 dmg boost, +2 on all colors and +2 on red/yellow. Did it on second try, so it is possible but u need luck.
Good luck for the people which is on the same boat as me.0 -
I have Cyclops at 3/4/1, and pushed him up to 163 (max I can go is 172). I've come very close several times, but it took a lot of luck to get as far as I did. Think I really need another red cover to win this one - 3 covers just doesn't do enough damage for the amount of hp that Hulkbuster has.
I may try again later if I get enough ISO to level him up, but I think this will be my first round 2 loss for 4* DDQ (other than Flaptain and Mr Bagtastic who I did not try this time).0 -
L185 5/3/5 beat first try. As others said this was far from easy though. If I hadn't been denying black I would have been toast. Also, I know yellow us the third best skill but collecting it and casting made me chase TU tiles which let me get enough ap to use the mega nuke to finish him off.
Next up is rulk and my 4/2/5 rulk will probably make me very sad.0 -
Yikes, this one was rough without using boosts. At 170, 3 red covers only do 1804 without the 10 TU AP. The lowest I knocked down HB was around 5k. Resorted to using +100% All Match Damage, +50% Y/R Damage, and +2 All AP. I was very lucky to get a yellow/TU heavy board. With HB stuck gathering blue, and a couple of lucky TU cascades. I was able to gather plenty of red to win.
Got a blue Captain Falcon. He's now 2/4/5.0 -
lvl 147
5/5/3
+2 ap
+50% power boost
+2 ap of every color
Once I got my uncanny strategist tile on the board I was able to make team up matches almost every turn for 4 red ap each. Fired off my nuke, then the abbreviated version to quickly finish him off before he was able to use any of his own powers.
Got a red deadpool cover which is the best one I've pulled in months.0 -
Bested him on try 6 with Level 175 3/4/3 Cyke.
Boosted R/Y, B/P, and 100% match damage.
Was down to 650 HP when I used a red skill to end it.0 -
Beat it third try (first try after boosting him to level 166) at level 166 (started at 140) with 2/5/2. used red/yellow ap, red/yellow match, and all match. Ate one repulsor punch that would have killed me at a lower level. Survived with about 1k HP.0
-
I beat it in my second try. 3/0/2 lvl127 Cyclops. Full os boosts of course...
I got Green Goblin btw0 -
My level 170 2/5/3, has ~9500 health, red does 1361 / 2027, yellow gains 4 red, blue does 989.
3 tries, not made a dent yet in the 17000+ health.
And with all my health packs used in a single (futile attempt at a) clear of Liberty Island, I'll probably put this one on the back burner.0 -
snlf25 wrote:Last time my Clops was inferior but since then I pulled two covers from the Valentines Vault (and two 4pools!) along with several more from LTs. I got him at 4/1/5 level 125 and I have 70k iso ready to level him up as needed. I hope I can save some of that for my Punisher covers dying in my queue but if I can't oh well.
I didn't even screw around with it. I asked myself what I was doing, sold my 3* Punisher covers, dumped a little over 70,000 iso into my 4clops to bring him to level 183 and straight murdered Hulkbuster on the first try. I used r/y+2, all ap +2 and TU +2. Even though he isn't optimal he is still dang impressive. I also brought my 4* Bobby up to 115 and beat the last 4*DDQ as well. Punisher can be championed later.
Bobby got me makes him 3/5/2
Scott got me my 5th of those to bring him to 5/3/3
and I got 25 CP in daily drop, bought a CLASSIC and got which makes him 3/2/2
God, I need iso.0 -
4/2/2 168 took me about ten tries. Finally got him with less than 500 health left. Got my eighth JG , who is 5/2/50
-
2/3/2 lvl 147 Cyc, took at least a good 15 tries. Wasted a good 400 HP buying 20% all boosts. Finally did it with 50% R/Y, 50% B/P, 100% all. Denied hard and had a few lucky cascades. The two runs before my last I got him down to 999 and then 200ish. Not recommended.0

While the conventional wisdom might be to go all in on called shot, his uncanny strategist is underrated. At max covers it gives out 4 ap. With the right board setup and some lucky cascades you can collect up to 8 ap a turn.
Called Shot is great but it is also subject to luck, and the damage output isn't all that impressive. Also if the endgame here is to collect enough tu tiles to fire off his nuke, your better off just matching those instead. They are both formidable, but I feel like people overlook his Yellow ability.
I don't think people overlook his yellow so much as the gains from going from 3 to 5 are so much better with his blue, you get a significant increase in dmg and a wider area of coverage which reduces the amount of luck in that attack. The 5 in yellow gets you a few more red ap, but your limiting factor for a powered up red is almost always going to be the amount of TU ap you have instead.
I was going to say this - Yellow is still good at 3, while blue is extremely lackluster at anything less than 5. Yellow is also a bit more limited as the AI always puts a high priority on TUs, so frequently the board is starved of them. If you have a better blue in your team, by all means respeccing him to 5/5/3 is a great option.
All the better reason to Champ him. Heck, if I had a level 270 IMHB with no extra covers, I wouldn't spend the extra 12.5k to promote him until I got that cover. If I had a level 270 Cyclops with no extra covers, I sure as heck would.0 -
Took a bunch of tries with my 2/5/2 lvl 177 Cyke. Had to use color boosts and maxed out the damage boost as well. Got lucky with a last minute cascade which let me fire off another Red. Had 405 health left after taking a repulsor pie to the face. Phew!
Wasn't sure if I was going to pull it off only having 2 red, but got another Antman which puts him at 5/0/00
