Give new covers to the top 150 alliances instead of 100

It's just a matter of inflation. "Top 100" was established when there weren't THAT many alliances total, much less competitive ones. There are over 19500 alliances now, giving only the top 100 the new four-star character cover is brutal, especially when that character is an essential for the subsequent event. The game should reward hard work (e.g. everyone hitting full progression) instead of requiring alliance leaders to find mercs in what's probably the middle of the night, it creates an unfair situation where certain people are put at a disadvantage due to what time zone their commanders live in.

The game has made similar adjustments to the PVE rewards which has been appreciated, I think this is the natural next step.

The statistic says 19,500 alliances but how many of them are that competitive?

I've had the priviledge of hosting a PVE team that was populated to win a new character a few times... and the truth is that not that many alliances are that competitive. I like to note, in the alliance chat, what rank we moved from/to as each person is added. Depending on the event a team of people playing hard for individual placement has already managed to become a t100 team with as few as 8 people on it. That number is, admittedly, only valid for a run-of-the-mill prize event. But, even for a new character event, we are often "in the money" by the time the 14th person got added.

To be clear, I think they make a critical error forcing people to win even their first cover for a new character. In the current game, one of the only things you can spend Hero Points on is roster slots. Creating a format to launch a character that doesn't automatically thrust a copy of a newly launched character onto every player in the game seems like a missed opportunity. Instead of expanding the prize tier I would love to see one of the following happen:
1 - create a 'currency' within the event that would allow you to 'buy' a single cover if you earned enough.
2 - set up the event so beating every node in every sub awards one automatically. This would put a rapid end to people trying to late enter to 'snipe' brackets.
3 - make the character the only available prize for a 1-and-done node. (See Hulk, or Prodigal Son events)
4 - create more events like the Ant Man and Cho Hulk events that award a single cover for the newly offered character.
5 - restore the ability to buy a token pack for the event that includes a "guaranteed" copy of the essential character - we used to have this but it was killed.
6 - create a discounted "combo" purchase option that would allow you to buy both the roster slot *AND* a single cover for the character being launched. (this was more plausible back in a by-gone era when you could buy covers with Hero Points)

The failure (in my mind) of the current implementation of the events that award a guaranteed cover is that it is *ALWAYS* the same color.

Any of these options would eliminate the anxiety people feel that they won't be able to win the character and will be less effective the next event as a result.
