Best Teams for Team Synergy
I apologize if I missed the thread somewhere but can you give me some ideas of the best teams for team synergy? I know everyone has their own strategies but when I play PVP I seem to be Ok but not able to dominate so I am not sure if I am building my team correctly.
For example, I know Ragnorok would be good to go with someone who uses green powers (i.e. Hulk) because Rags red creates green.

The best synergy team I know of is Hood, MN Mags, C Storm.
Once they get going, their Yellow, Purple, Green, and Red all generate more AP than they spend with major board shakeup. Their Blue and Black are decent damage dealers.
Loki + Patch is good.0 -
akboyce did a thread similar to this, but more about tile coverage: http://www.d3pforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=36640

Rag and hulk r both tanks. Rags is better paired with a 5/5/3 punisher. Rags red fuels punishers green. Punishers green creates the strike tiles for damage. Punisher tosses a few black in to take further advantage if strike tiles. Reds low cost red continues dealing moderate damage while feeding strike tiles.
There's a few people who would will the other colors. You're missing yellow purple blue.
C mags can handle purple blue. Spidey handles all 3 to an extent. OBW has purple and blue and can double dip the strike tiles sometimes. Hulk can go instead of rags depending on which 1 is healed up. Lots and lots of good combos if you play around with em.0 -
By tanks, you mean high HP characters?0

Basically. Some tanks work ok together because some still deal pretty high damage. Doom and Thor both are tanks that can deal good damage. Hulk and rags skills synergize a little but if you're using rags red then your not using hulks which is where he does his damage at. Rags and hulk green are both just boardshakers. No real damage moves. You can add a damage character as a 3rd but then you are missing utility like OBW or spidey Psylocke hood etc etc.0 -

You should consider pumping up OBW (you have her at full covers) for healing and AP steal - it'll save on health packs, and prevent tougher enemies from unleashing one-hit kills on your crew.0 -

Perhaps because I don't have a useable Spidey, my current combo of choice is Hulk / Thor / OBW.
My Thor is 3/5/5, and my OBW is 5/5/3.
I recently respecced Thor from 4/4/5 specifically for this combo. Now his Yellow generates 9 green. This gives me a choice on Green - Call the Storm is brilliant when there are two to three enemies and I'm in control of the board, alternatively Hulk's Green is great for focusing one a particularly troublesome bad guy and shaking up the board if needed. OBW gets Blue / Purple exclusively, Thor Yellow, and Hulk Red.
Or for giggles I sub in C Storm for Hulk, depending on whether I need a pure tank or not. Her Blue is possibly my favourite power in the whole game.0 -
Level up your MN Magneto, he'll work very well with your Storm, and you have 13 covers for him.0

I'd consider going GSBW, IM40, and Rags. You cover the rainbow. GSBW purple is a green battery to complement rags plus IM40's yellow. Especially if you can get her sniper skill to a 5, that'd be a great combo. Also, as walkyourpath mentioned, OBW is a great utility character.
If you were to use wolvie as a strike tile generator, she can be devastating. I'd recommend respecing her black to 5 if the covers become available. This will trigger strike tiles twice on her blue, black, and purple matches. In this lineup I'd go wolvie, obw, rags/hulk/storm0 -
Thanks for the info.
What do you think would be my heaviest hitting team? Is it better to have 3 characters with high HP or vary it a little to be able to use more abilities?0 -
I like Patch, MN Mags, and Classic Storm because they're the best dressed in all white and look good together, and plus they do cover most of the colours besides black.
Another 'look good team' is M. Hawkeye, Psylocke, and Bullseye all in black/purple attire and again they also cover most of the spectrum but no yellow or green for them.0 -
Appreciate the good looking teams! LOL!
Would it be better to cover as many colors of the spectrum or play to only certain colors?0 -
^ Rainbow teams rule. If you only have 2-3 strong colours, it's not unimaginable that the board stops giving you those colours, what are you going to do? Whereas with a rainbow team you can count on being able to collect AP that you actually need. Examples of rainbow teams:
IM 35, mStorm, mBW
Thor, oBW, Moonstone
Magneto MN, Ares, Bullseye
Spider-Man, the Hulk, classic Magneto
Punisher, the Hood, Daredevil
Patch, Loki, Spider-Man
the troll teams: Spider-Man, Venom, mStorm. Om nom nom!
Spider-Man, mStorm, oBW (double AP source, double healing)
the ultimate troll team (not my idea, I just like it): the Hood, oBW, mStorm (triple AP sources, but you have pitiful health)0 -

I generally find teams that have at least 5+ colors to work well. The problem with 6 colors is that a lot of the time it's hard to find a character with a good ability in a particular color (black for 2*s, yellow for 3*s), and so it isn't worth adding a mediocre character (Bullseye, Moonstone, etc) to complete the rainbow when you can have a 5 color team with more powerful characters.0 -
Out of the characters I posted above, what team combination do you think is the best to run with?0

JusticeB wrote:I like Patch, MN Mags, and Classic Storm because they're the best dressed in all white and look good together, and plus they do cover most of the colours besides black.
Hey, they work better than you'd think: MN mags is just there to power Storm's blue, but a stunned enemy is typically all that Patch needs to shred the opponent to pieces. They were a pretty effective team in the iso 8 tournament that just finished, with two of the three being boosted. If anything, the biggest problem of the combo was that the boosts were so severe Patch's red was only going to hit if he is pretty close to maxed in levels.0 -
For PVE synergy against teams with only minions: Captain America, BWGS, req'd char / Punisher has been working great for me, I rarely get hit with any countdowns.
For PVP synergy: BWO, Punisher, and pick your 3rd - I've been using my L115 Ragnarok most of the time to tank and generate Punisher's green for strike tiles and try to scare off retaliations. BWO can deal SICK damage with lev 5 Espionage and multiple strike tiles in play. You wouldn't think that from someone who looks so good in fishnets.

I don't know that they would work well, but I'd like to try:
Patch + Dr. Doom + Loki -- Seems like following Patch's green with Loki's black would be a nice power shift, especially with Doom feeding Loki black tiles.
Classic Magneto + Spider-Man + Bullseye -- I wonder how many protect tiles you can actually fit on the screen.
oBw + Hood + mStorm -- Seems like once it got rolling it would be fun to watch.0
