Hexproof immune to everything?

So, I was playing against a Nissa who got lucky enough to pull a mythic with hexproof out of one of their packs. Playing as Chandra, I found that none of my control spells could damage it, whether they specifically targeted it or not - Hexproof should be played out as 'CANNOT BE TARGETED by spells or abilities.' If the spell or ability, I.E. Chandra's Ignition (6 damage to all enemy creatures) or her level 3 Scorching Strike (3 damage to all enemy creatures), hits more than one target and doesn't require you to pick them out, the target should hit a hexproof creature regardless... Either the wording has to be changed, or the function needs to be changed to accommodate non-targeting spells.

  • I can see how a spell/ability that does damage to all creatures at the same time is targeting all of them. So I think it's correct that it doesn't hit the hexproof.

I found it interesting that Deathtouch does work on hexproof. I think it's ok how hexproof works.

I think it's more important that the in-game descriptions are short and kind of accurate than having all details and have a disturbing length.

It would be fine if the in game descriptions were short *and* matched the expected behavior from the card game. If they're going to borrow keywords from an established game and then deviate from the well-established behavior defined by those keywords, then they should be explicit about what their keyword means.
  • Hexproof is immunity to all effects, including wrath effects (unlike MtG).

I -believe- it is also untargettable by sacrifice mechanics (again unlike MtG).

It is also immune to -X/-X which is also unlike MtG.

It is very powerful in its current incarnation. I dunno if they will change it or not. Only two hexproof creatures in entire game, and they're both fairly bad.

Graveblade kills himself on berserker, and nissa's has only 6 toughness, easily killed by any buffed defender. It is also overcosted.

Graveblade Marauder has deathtouch and berserker, not hexproof. I'm not sure what Nissa's card you're referring to, but I'm pretty sure the only hexproof creature in the game is Gaea's Revenge.
  • Oh he isn't hexproof? I could swear he was hexproof.

Oh well. Yea nissa's gaea fatty.

Defenders can attack and that was a surprise icon_e_smile.gif
  • I can confirm this is either a bug either in the application of effects to hexproof creatures or the definition of hexproof. Mass effect spells that don't target a specific creature (both the examples put forth by the OP and Dissipation Wave in my experience), DO NOT effect hexproof creatures.

Devs either need to change how hexproof is effective or remove the word target from the hexproof definition.
