Macabre Waltz

I was wondering why Macabre Waltz was the only card from the Origin's set left out of the game?

Are there plans to add it in the future or was it censored due to its imagery or some other reason?

Thanks!

  • Probably left out because it is really bad in this format.

Hi - Sorry for the slow reply. We include as many cards as possible per set (meaning future sets too), however, some cards are not included as it did not make sense to include them for one reason or another.

Just realized... with the release of the latest set, Origins is retroactively complete! Now that discard is central to one of the set mechanics, it made sense to include Macabre Waltz, which was printed in paper both in Origins and Shadows over Innistrad.

Another post suggested the ability to browse the graveyard, which for this spell to work as it does in paper would require that feature. Browsing/targeting creatures in the graveyard would be a nice addition.
